but I can't use it!

So I was looking through my email and saw an email about my birthday at disneyland, which already makes me said because DH and I can't take the time off to go (even though my birthday falls on a Friday!). I saw the pin code and freeeaked out (well, as much as I could - i am at my office...)

OOOH wait...called DH and he said to forward the email to him so he can check it out! :goodvibes Maybe...just maybe we'll go in April...and stay at the Disneyland Hotel...:cool1: WAAHHH! Keep your fingers crossed!!!!

...oh man...what an AMAZING birthday present!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could we have details please?:flower3:

What are the dates and is it for room only or package?

Very cool!

From your sig, it looks like you have DLR APs, so be sure to check the AP rates for April...they've been pretty good. Make sure you check between the PIN rate and AP rate. :)

Okay so the details and answers...

We do have APs...they are from costco though and have not been activated yet. We *planned* to activate them on DH's birthday and use gift cards and what not for our trip from May 7 - 10th.

Email says...

"Dear Julie,

We’re so excited that you’ve registered to celebrate your upcoming birthday at the Disneyland® Resort! Here’s a way to make that celebration even more magical: enjoy a stay at one of the Hotels of the Disneyland® Resort and save 35% off the regular room rate, now through April 30, 2009! "

I will have to check the AP rate, thanks for the advice...but can I do that without having my AP number?

Oh and the fine print:

"*35% savings based on a non-discounted price for same room at the Disneyland® Hotel, Disney’s Paradise Pier® Hotel and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel® & Spa. Applies only to standard or concierge level rooms. Other restrictions apply. Advance reservations required. Subject to availability as the number of rooms allocated for this offer is restricted. Excludes Resort fees and taxes. Offer is non-transferable, and PIN from above is needed when making reservations. Limit two (2) rooms per reservation and five (5) people maximum per room. Not valid in combination with any other discounts or offers. Subject to change without notice."

Oh I'm just too excited right now. I didn't think we'd ever stay at one of the Disney hotels!! :woohoo: Oh come on DH...please please please!

Well it depends on what dates you are looking at, for your May trip (which is probably already covered hotel wise) they have standard rates at $279 a night (no availability for the 7th) and view rooms at $320 a night. For April they have standard rates at $209 per night, view rooms at $249 a night. There isn't a super cool AP9 rate available quite yet.....

Thanks for the details :thumbsup2 I keep hoping someone will get a pin that includes July. I know, wishful thinking

I hope you get to use it. That would be wonderful!!!

Let us know what you and DH decide. :goodvibes

Thanks! I know I can always count on you for room quotes!

Our May hotel is through priceline - Marriott Suites (the one in Garden Grove) for $44/night! King bed and all :)

From the AP site:

"From now until April 30, take advantage of up to 40% off regular Disneyland® Resort Hotel rates".... Call (866) 411-3890 now to make your reservation."

The 209 for DLH rates that pixie mentioned are correct, but the last weekend it gets lower. And PPH has some pretty good rates.

You can call them for AP rates without an activated AP. They'll want it at check-in, but I'm sure the voucher and then coming back later with the actual AP would do.

That's a great rate! woo hoo!!! Always happy to help with those rates. :)

Ya, I just generalized the rates I posted and only posted the DLH rates since that's what Julie seemed most interested in. :) I think the PPH rates were $179 a night.....

Woah...where to stay where to stay! Wait...whats that DH? You still haven't given me the green light yet? A girl can dream :cutie:

Well after some number crunching...looks like we're waiting til May. I'm sure we could swing it...but knowing we can stay at a hotel for 3 nights for the LESS than the cost for one night at the Disneyland hotel just isn't going to happen. :(

But thats ok, we'll go in May and hopefully absence will make my heart grow fonder???

Thanks for the help fellow DISers!

Waiting is probably a good idea, especially since hubby is iffy on it. During your May trip be sure to take a little while to roam around the DLH grounds, remind him that staying onsite gives you access to the Magic Mornings during your stay, etc.

Have you read HydroGuy's tips? He has a "sticky" thread chock full of info, especially the DLR for WDW veterans bit he wrote. And the hotel info about the inherent time loss in driving to the parks. Be sure to read through those, and it might convince hubby to stay closer in next time, perhaps even at the Disney hotels.

And I know well the feeling of "how many nights could I stay there for that cost?", b/c that is what keeps drawing us back to HoJo Anaheim when we can get their special Entertainment Book rate ($59/night on the nights that it's offered). We've stayed at PPH twice, once for the first trip and another time b/c even HoJo was nearly as costly as the AP rate at PPH, but enjoy HoJo better b/c of the savings. :)
