Now, maybe someone can give me a hint as how to get over 235,000? I can't seem to get above that

Are you playing full screen? I found by accident that it was much easier to get the multiple fireworks on a smaller screen than on the full screen mode.
I was stuck in the 230's for weeks playing with the full screen. lol. Switched to the original pop up window that appears when you log in off the home page and was able to get to 243 in just a couple of trys.
