I was given a gym membership for Christmas, and I finally got off my butt and went. Twice. I didn't know if I'd like it or not, but surprisingly, it was great. The biggest revelation for me was how NORMAL all the people working out are. It's definitely not one big Bally commercial full of buff bodies. Makes it so much easier to go knowing you don't have to have J-Lo's body to work out at a gym.
Good for you! I know a lot of people that don't want to go because they are embarrassed about how they look (me included)...it's nice to find a place that you feel good about going to, that'll make it easier to stick to it!!
I have been toying with the idea of joining our local Y. I NEED to do something to get moving, and this seems to fit the bill.
Your post has encouraged me to go give them a second look. They can't all be 'beautiful people' can they? (No offense to any beautiful people, you just intimidate me a bit ).
Nope. They sure aren't all beautiful people. Yes, there are some that I think they put there on purpose to motivate you, but mostly, they're all just regular (and Pooh shaped) people. I have come to really enjoy it.
