I slipped in the mud carrying groceries in from the car today. I went down hard on my knee, turned my ankle, hit my head and hip. After I crawled into the house and cleaned up (I was covered in mud), DD took me to walk-in care. No concussion, no hip injury, severe sprain in my ankle and something is going on with my knee, but it's so swollen and has so much tissue damage that they can't tell if there is ligament damage or not, so I'll end up with a referral to an orthopedist. I am lucky that I slipped on mud instead of ice and that the ground isn't frozen, or I could have been I serious trouble. I JUST got over the flu- had to cancel last weekend's plans due to flu- and now I have to cancel the rescheduled plan because I am to be fully non-weight bearing, no driving, keep it elevated, etc. until the swelling goes down enough so that my foot isn't cold, numb, and tingling. GRRRR. Mostly I am just sore all over, my knee and ankle hurt, and I'm whiney and disappointed to not be able to go visiting this weekend. PLEASE be careful when traipsing around outside in the winter weather!
