I fell down the stairs on the cruise last week.

Oh I can relate! Glad you're ok, but I understand how your ego can be bruised.

Last week I was at a huge mall and my son unexpectedly stopped right in front of me. I didn't see him and I tripped right over him. Next thing I knew I was face down on the floor - phone and glasses scattered. I just laid there for a minute because I couldn't believe I had just done that and my face was on mall carpeting (ew!). Embarrassing... but it got worse! My (special needs) daughter panicked and started yelling at the top of her lungs "HELP! MY MOM NEEDS HELP! CALL 9-1-1! HELP!". My husband just stood there shaking his head as tons of people poured out of the stores to come gawk at the clumsy lady on the floor. And then my son said, in front of everyone, "I had to duck out of the way so mommy wouldn't squish me!"

Two huge bruises on my knees, but it's my ego that's in bad shape!

Oh My Goodness! I am glad you are ok, although a little embarrassed.

If it makes you feel any better I once wiped out at Palo Brunch...my dessert and my plate went everywhere. I was horrified. The manager, our server, and even the chef were just doting on me to be sure I was ok...they couldn't have been nicer but I was just beyond embarrassed. The next year we were dining there again and Chef David came out to talk to us. He looked at me and said, I have seen you before...ROFL! I had to confess who I was, the klutz who took a spill last year. :bitelip:

I'm so sorry you fell! I hope you weren't in pain for the rest of the cruise.

If it makes you feel better, I fell at the pool while we were at Aulani in Hawaii. And lots of people saw. I was injured and had to be taken away in a wheelchair. I was mortified.

Talk about embarrassing! I don't even know what the heck happened. I was walking down the stairs, I got to the fourth step to the bottom and my ankle just twisted out from under me, the next thing I know, the floor was coming up to greet me. Thankfully, I saved my face from hitting the floor, but it was a good fall. A little girl was coming up from the deck below, and she saw me fall. Her mom came up and around after I was picking myself up. The little girl yells at the top of her lungs " I SAW THAT LADY FALL!" Embarrassing.

I think what happened was the extremely rough seas. The boat jerked a little too hard to one side, and I tumbled. My sister asked if I had been holding onto the banister. I am only 50 years old, thankyouverymuch. Believe me, after that, I was holding on.

OMG.....I fell UP the stairs on Formal Night!!! I was going from Deck 3 midship to Deck 4 midship and the bottom of my Palazzo pants got hooked on the toe of my dress shoe.....bam....down on all fours. I was mortified but there was only one person on the landing and they were surprised to see me fall. I popped up pretty quickly and didn't need any help getting up (thank goodness) but I was totally embarrassed!!!

Back in 2012 on the Magic I slid down a flight of stairs from Deck 9 to Deck 8. Twisted my ankle on that one and had to visit the medical dept. I sat by the adult pool with ice on it for two days.

At least these are people you'll never see again. I once fell flat on my face in the cafeteria at work. Embarrassing!

Glad you were okay. And glad you didn't fall on the little girl. Anyone can have an accident, or even a twist of an ankle.
I can top that. I work in a hospital, slipped on a wet floor on one of the nursing units. For all non life threatening issues, they call “Rapid Response”to the location. Which meant about 10 residents rushed over from ICU (where I usually work and teach them) plus all the doctors and nurses already on the unit. Then I had to sit in ED waiting to have an X-ray. Multiple commenters with “oh you were the Rapid Response on 31?” Yep that’s me :headache:

I'm Glad you are OK. On my last cruise, I fell on the pool deck. I feel your pain and embarrassment but like some people said, You'll never see those people again.

Glad you are ok.

If it makes you feel better, on one of our cruises (IIRC on the Dream) we were having rough seas and I was in one of the shops walking past a stacked table display of stuffed toys when I fell over, into the display, knocking all the stuffies over. Stuffed toys everywhere on the floor. While I was apologizing profusely to the CM, their concern was if I was ok. I insisted on helping them pick up the toys, though they wouldn't let me help put them back on the display. Fortunately it was just the CM and I in the store, no other witnesses. On leaving I had trouble walking down the hall so just went back to the cabin for the rest of the night -- FWIW I was very happy they have handrails in the hallways !!

I thought Palazzo pants were the perfect way to be comfortable on formal nights until something similar happened to me.
