My family and I live in Charleston, SC. A nice six hour drive to the World. We go about three times a year. The other day I just found out about this web site and mousesavers and the food vouchers that you can purchase. I always just book on-line a Disney.com for whatever resort we want to stay at. I went through our last three trips and just on room and food could have saved a little over $1700, if I would have know about codes earlier. One good thing is we will probley be able to go an extra time per year now that I have seen the light.

By the way I was looking at this site until 2:30 in the am last night. Good thing I took today off. This web site is awsome.

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone.::MickeyMo

Don't feel bad! I'm in the same boat! I just found these sites for this years trip and saved a ton of money also. Better late than never :teeth:

Don't feel stupid, feel lucky that you found the DIS!

Also, if you go that many times a year you may want to look into the Disney Vacation Club. There is plenty of info on the DVC forum part of the DIS boards.

Yes, this site is addicting. I don't know if I visit this site to go to Disney or go to Disney so I can visit this site:teeth: Susan

I could kick myself for money wasted on our last trip. I am so knowlegable now that I have been reading these boards for the past year. I have already saved $1800 on a trip in Dec.

I feel your pain!

Welcome to the DisBoards Charleston Zurg!

mousesavers and other easily to find Disney discounts - were not easily to find until a couple of years ago - WDW monitored all the websites and would send out a threaten letter to any websites who posted discounts.

so you only missed a couple of years - not a whole lot of them

so be happy that WDW has gotten with the times and now uses the internet - to advertise its's discount

If you go that often - definitely look at DVC - it is a great way (my opinion) to save money - if you always stay on-site in at least a moderate resort - you will save money.

Welcome to the DIS!!!

hopefully all your future trips your saving will mound up!

Welcome!:sunny:

Most of us were in your shoes at one point. I about died when I found this board and realized how badly we overpaid for a trip at the Poly in value season! But I was grateful to have found it (and thus mousesavers) in time to save big bucks on our last trip. Now I check in every day looking for advice and savings tips!

I bet a lot of us have the same experience. I know that I never used information like on these boards and mousesavers for our first few trips. Dis has saved me SO much money AND has helped me plan better trips. For example, we are going to the Cinderella Dinner at the GF 1900 Fare next month. I honestly don't remember seeing it listed on the Disney.com website anywhere. We are SO excited about this dinner....and without Dis, we would never have known!

So not only does DIS save money, but they give you GREAT ideas! On our last trip, we went to the Ice Cream Social that Mousesavers.com mentions (as the least expensive character meal). It was delightful! And again, I would never have known it existed if it had not been for these boards (even the CM that took my PS had not heard of it before!).

So enjoy the boards! They are great, and there are so many wonderful support sites up to help with planning and saving. Furture trips will be even better for your family!

Don't feel bad most of us are in the same boat. Lucky for us we found the site after our first trip. Which by the way cost more at POR then we spent the next trip at WL.

WELCOME!

Welcome and Happy Thanksgiving! You are not alone. I felt exactly like you did when I first stumbled across this board a few years ago. :D

 WELCOME

Luckily I was always able to get some kind of discount, but now that I check these boards regularly I make many more trips and see and do lots of different stuff.

I have 2 teens and a son with special needs so the info here helps me plan for everyone. I can always find something new and different to do so the older ones don't get bored with WDW, and my youngest can be at place where he is treated unbelievably.:D

What I wanna know is how t he HEACK are you getting from Charlestown to Orlando in 6 hours? I live in Southwest Ga and sometimes I can do it in 6 but not often! LOL Whats your secret?

Welcome to the boards! Be careful though, sometimes nothing else gets done in my house!

Welcome! Another convert to doing Disney without breaking the bank. Yahoo! Break out the lime green ribbons. :bounce: Maggie
