:sad2: My husband was gone on a hunting trip this weekend and I was babysitting his friend's dog that went with him. He looks exactly like the dog in the Taco Bell commercials. Anyway, yesterday I had to take my dog to the vet to get his shots. As my dog, daughter and I were leaving, our friend's dog thought we were going somewhere fun without him. As I open the door he runs out and I yell at him to get back in. When he comes back in the door, I accidentally stepped on his foot and he yelped. :sad2: I apologized to him and of course he forgave me, but I still felt bad. :sad2: Have you ever accidentally hurt your pet?

When I originally posted this thread I accidentally put in delete subscription, and this is the only way I think there is to resubsribe to it. :teeth:

I step on 2 of my furrykids all the time. The third furrykid gets kicked. Let me explain a bit, my puppy and 1 cat like to be underfoot, right near me whenever I am walking, they get stepped on at least once a week! My other cat sleeps with DH and I, usually at the foot of the bed, you would think after all this time I would know she is there, no, I still kick her almost every morning in my half awake gotta turn off the alarm roll. This is just me. DH, who is 6'4" steps on them too. The puppy is a chihuahua/dauchsaund mix who weighs about 13 pounds, the size of a cat.

More times that I can count, lol. Maggie always appears to forgive/forget within seconds, especially if I feel bad enough to run get her a treat while apologizing, lol. Plus, she's hurt me a gazillion times by stepping on my feet with her big 'ol paws. The dog weighs a ton and her claws always seem to put a scratch down my foot, especially when I've just clipped them. They always have sharp edges then.

I'm afraid to admit this :guilty: . Trust me, I still feel guilty and it has been 4+ years.

I once, accidentally of course, vacuumed up my dog's tail. She is a long-hair breed with a big, poofy tail. She scooted right in front of the vacuum when I was cleaning. She yelped and the emergency shut-off on the vacuum kicked in (it does if anything wraps around the beater bar). I comforted her for awhile but she seemed fine. I squeezed, bent and wagged her tail over and over to make sure she really was okay. It looked fine--no hair was pulled out even. She is now terrified of the vacuum and rightfully so. The end of her tail bone is not straight though. I think I broke it.

Again, she is okay now. This was a long time ago. Please don't hate me.....

 ::yes:: we have small dogs (a Japanese Chin and a yorkie) and they are always underfoot. It doesn't happen often but I did step on both Roxie's and Bruiser's feet and I've tripped over them-almost broke my neck but they were ok!
