I feel sick, all Disney hotels sold out for our dates!

I see on the calendar thread there is a fabrics convention 7th-9th. Link http://www.disboards.com/threads/2015-calendar-of-events-school-breaks-mhp-and-dlr.3358090/

It's possible what you're looking at is convention goers booking out the on-site hotels. That's been known to happen. Luckily for you (if this is the case) they should be at the convention during the day so it may not be an indication that the parks will be packed. (Just trying for the silver lining here!)
If rooms are booked for a convention there may just be a hold. Usually rooms are held for attendees up to a certain date and then released back into the pool. You might try calling to see if this is the case.

Aw man, it's Gay Days so the rooms ARE probably totally sold out - I feel like all of my gay friends alone may have sold out GCH :flower3: I know it's a long shot but have you tried David's VGC rentals? We once went at a sold out time and were able to get a 1-bedroom suite through David's...

Have you tried individual days, one at a time? Bouncing from room to room hotel to hotel is actually pretty easy with luggage transfer

We will be there 10/6-10/11
We were able to get a room at the GC for the 9th-11th but nothing for our earlier dates
Gay Days weekend is 10/2-10/4, but guests are able to book the discounted rate through 10/9 (all reservations must include a day from the actual weekend). Only 1 night deposit is needed, so some guests include dates both before and after the weekend.

It is quite likely some Gay Days reservations for the dates you need will be released, as the dates approach and guests finalize their agendas.

Thank you all so much, you bring up some great points. We did go ahead and book the partial trip at GC. Crossing my fingers that something else opens up, but either way we will make the most of it!

I always stay onsite at WDW, but onsite at DL is too expensive. Prices are on par with Deluxe hotel pricing at WDW.
There are many hotels on Harbor blvd right across the street. I'm sure you can find a really nice one.
I'm staying at the Ramada Maingate in their new building in a superior room toward the end of Sept.
Construction should be just about finished.

If you can not find a Disney room just remember this: Disney has Cruise Ships. They are total Disney immersion and a whole heap of fun! Lots of characters, lots to do, great food, just a thought :sail::sail::sail:

Bummer. We've had to move our vacations because of the DLR properties being sold out and waiting too long to book. We book 4-6 months in advance these days. Just gotta do it early. We are at the DLH 10/10-10/18

I actually just found out tonight that, in all likelihood, the Star Wars Launch Bay (or at least part of it) will open on or by Sunday, 10/11. I don't expect that the Launch Bay itself should draw huge crowds, and I don't think the new Star Tours adventure/ride film is opening until late November/early December. But it should make for a busy weekend, between CHOC Walk, Columbus Day people and Launch Bay folks.

I think it's an ominous sign for those of us there at that time that the parks are going to be rammed... hopefully they might extend park hours, this could explain why the dining is slow to open up early October...

That is what I am thinking as well about the parks being rammed. I hope that is not the case. Park hours are slowly starting to show up (shows up to Oct 2nd now). Least for DL. DCA only shows up to Sept 30th.
