give me your favorite that I may have missed. There are 6 in our family(4 kids!) but we are an adventurous bunch. We have hit all the ones in Epcot with the exception of Marakesh(and I think we will try it this time) We have 2 little ones so we try to avoid too fancy. Although they did great at Narcoosee last year. We Love Kona so that is on the list as is the Sci Fi just because we all think that place is cool! Oh and we have to do the Coral Reef for the tank(unfortunatly not my favorite but the kids love it- and the make your own sundae for the kids is probably what does it for them) We are not on the dining plan and I will probably get a new DDE card. So what do you have? suggest away I know there have got to be some great ones we have missed(oh we are staying at the Poly if that matters) so probably not going to the boardwalk- and we have eaten at all those restaurants on the boardwalk(loved them!) but we are too big a crowd for them now I think. Thanks for any suggestions......

We just returned today & on this trip we ate O'Hana at the Poly for the first time. It was fabulous & the very next day I called Disney Dining from our room & made an ADR for our next trip in April.

It is family style & includes an appetizer, salad, shrimp, turkey, sausage, pork & steak cooked over an open pit fire - all seasoned to perfection. I don't know with what but it sure was good.

Then there was a fabulous bread pudding, vanilla ice cream & carmel/banana sauce for dessert. The only thing out of those 3 things my family even remotely likes is vanilla ice cream but they polished off the entire thing.

My 3 DD's loved it (they are 16, 13 & 13). It's definitely a must do for each trip now & we've eaten at numerous Disney restaurants also!

Great thank you that is exactly what I wanted to hear. I was thinking about Ohana as we have never eaten there. So yippe glad to hear it is good and it is now on the list!!

I'm not one for counter service - the only one I ALWAYS do is Flametree BBQ at AK. It has the BEST ribs and chicken, baked beans and corn on the cob. Top it off with DDE discount and sitting by the lake looking at the new Everest ride - MAGIC pixiedust: Sit down, NEVER miss LeCellier for filet and cheese soup!

I also love Kona and Ohana and since you are staying at the Poly that should be easy for you. How about Prime Time?? Great fried chix and Pot Roast. Boma for breakfast is now a must do, plus you can check out the lodge. Have fun with whatever you decide and good eating!!! :cheer2:

even tho you are staying at the poly, you might consider the restaurants along the boardwalk since it is such an easy walk from epcot - perhaps you could have an early dinner before going back to the hotel or eat and then walk over to epcot for the fireworks--- we always enjoy beaches and cream, the yacht club galley had gotten decent reviews, espn has great wings, etc and the cape may buffet gets good reviews.
then it is fun to walk around the boardwalk --- go into the hotels and check out the lobbies and pools - you can watch the fireworks from the beach and eat an ice cream cone -- the bus ride isn't bad at all or you can cut through epcot and get the monorail

if you have a car, you might try going off site --- we really enjoyed seasons 52 restaurant - if you like chinese there is ming; uno is a decent pizza place

ps - don't forget earl of sandwich or raglan road (great music that starts at 9pm if the kids can stay up a while)

hope you have a great time!

Where have you eaten at the other parks? At MK we like the Liberty Tavern for lunch and MGM the Prime Time. Nothing at AK unfortunately. And then there are all the resorts. We especially like the Whispering Canyon @ WL.

I agree with Wispering Canyon and Ohana's!!

I also LOVE Boma's!

Hi all,

I'm new here and have a million questions. This is one of them.

What is a DDE card? I've seen this in several posts and have no idea what it is or what it does. Can somebody please explain it to me.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Disney Dining Experience card. It gives you 20% off at select full service and counter service restaurants. You can purchase one and it is good for 1 year. Maybe someone will come by and drop you a link.

Our favorites are:

O'Hanas (must do everytime)
California Grill (must do everytime)
LeCellier (must do everytime)
Chefs de France (not a must do, but very good!)
Artist Point
Hoop Dee Doo (we do everytime, but it's really the best the first time)
Crystal Palace (we do everytime and would be better without the SCREAMING!)
Biergarten (good, but hate sitting with other families)
Sci-Fi (only for lunch)
Tony's (awesome for lunch)
Liberty Tree (for lunch--also home of the BEST WDW dessert in my opinion, enormous piece of pound cake with caramel/pecan sauce smothered all over it and a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream--converted this chocaholic!)

I have to say out of the tons of places we have eaten in WDW (and almost all of the resorts) my all time two favorite are O'Hana's and California Grill.

***You have to have an Annual Pass or be a Florida Resident to be able to buy the DDE card

Disneycrazedx6,

Thanks for the information. Since we aren't part of the dining plan, this card sounds like a good idea. I guess we can purchase it when we get there.

Thanks again..........

They need to be purchased beforehand. Check out the info on allearsnet :)

Even tho it's not on DDE or the Dining Plan, you might want to check out BlueZoo. It's our new favorite, must-do restaurant. It is a bit more adult, but our server assured us that for earlier dinners, they see plenty of children.
Altho I have been a devotee of Artist Point & California Grill for awhile, I must say the BlueZoo is the best food on Disney property IMHO.

Well, thanks for the information about the DDE card...but...looks like that's not something we can do. We are NOT residents of Florida, nor are we annual pass holders. It sounded like a good idea, but we don't meet the requirements. That's 2 stikes for us...no Dining plan and no DDE card.

I'm still looking forward to some of the great restaurants in Disney and these posts are making me more excited about eating there.

5 days and counting! Again, thank you all for the information.

Have a great day! :dog: Rosco's Jamma
