I think I have everything planned and then we change stuff. Went over our menu and went back and forth over whether it was too much food or not. First said no, then changed our minds again and said yes, dropping a few meals off our grocery list. The way we figure, we can always make another grocery store run (we'll be there 11 nights and can only fit so much food into the fridge anyway) if we need to. But many of our planned meals will generate leftovers, so I think we'll be good. And if we eat out a bit, that's ok, too. It is our vacation after all.

We were going to bring the 8-man tent, but no one actually plans to sleep in the tent except the 8yo, so it seemed like overkill to bring such a big tent - and find a place to pack it for the trip down - for just one person to *maybe* sleep in it and have some overflow storage. So, we are bringing the smaller 3-man tent instead.

Finally decided NOT to bring the big rug and got a smaller, more manageable, easier to transport rug for just outside the door.

Packed all our clothes in suitcase and then said, "Do I really want to be tossing big suitcases around for 11 nights while we're there?" The answer was NOPE, so everyone got repacked into the smallest possible bags they fit into.

The list goes on and on, but you get the general idea. I've come to the conclusion that lists are either totally useless or are just meant to be changed.....LOL

We camp every year, my FIL and I do a wilderness fly fishing trip with a tent trailer. We ALWAYS over pack and change food lists several times!!! We stay at a site that has no power or water and we are several miles from anything really, so we don't want to run to get stuff. I know you will have a great trip and yes you will over pack and still forget something!!! We all do!!! Have fun at the fort!!!

Be sure to keep your list , it'll come in handy for next trip.

YAY For US! :thumbsup2 :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

I'm so excited! Will you be checking in on the boards while there?

I can't believe the time is upon us. Hope you guys have safe travels! :goodvibes

Safe travels to you also!

We'll have our netbook with us, so I may check in - or maybe from my phone. Not sure. Depends on wi-fi and whether I'm too busy having fun. :)

Check out a cable modem to use at your site from the Meadow Trading Post for free and you can keep up with the DIS on your trip.

Or let us know how you are doing? :scratchin
