anyway another thread made me think about this. We are going to DL in less than a month. We have 4 day park hopper tickets coming to us. We are thinking about going back again Oct 2010 for Halloween. I noticed that the price of a Deluxe pass is $289 (roughly $99 more than we paid for the 4 day hoppers).

Here's the question: Is is possible to turn in the hoppers and get APs instead for the year? We'll save money in the long run if/when we do go back later in the year. Or are we out of luck since we already purchased the tickets for the upcoming trip.

Hmmm, pray tell what "other post" made you think of that? :rotfl2: I believe you can upgrade the hoppers at the park, you just pay the difference :) On the board, they always suggest you upgrade on the last day of your visit, since the AP expires a year from first use, so you'll get some "bonus days".

Also, I don't know if I was the exception or the rule, but in the past I ordered 2-day hoppers online, and then decided I wanted more DL time, so I called and the refunded me the 2-days when I bought 3-days, even though they say online that everything is non-refundable.

I wonder which post???? *whistle* It made me remember, 'hey, we are planning yet another trip within the next 365'. So good, we can upgrade at the parks. Very good to know!

I've got a one track Disney mind lately since work has been sloooooow while I wait on the craziness to begin. I swear I'm going to wear out my cntrl & f5 keys from constant DISboard reloading.

Actually some of this information is not correct. :) We do suggest upgrading after you use your MM (if your hoppers come with that perk) and we do suggest watching the black out dates and upgrading after those but it's better to upgrade as soon as possible because you will get discounts on food/merchandise depending on which AP you upgrade to. You do get your full purchase price credited towards your AP upgrade, so if you paid $149 for your ticket you would pay the difference for the upgrade. After your upgrade your AP is expiration date is the first day of use of your hoppers...so if you went this Friday 11-6 and used your tickets and then upgraded on Saturday 11-7 your APs expiration date would be 11-6-2010. I hope that helps. :)

Definitely helps! I didn't even consider the MM hours. However, I don't think that would matter for us this time around as we'll be staying at the DLH and would get that perk for staying at the hotel not for having the hoppers.

I was thinking we'd upgrade on the first day we are there to get the full benefit of the food discounts.

Ahhh, sorry for the misinformation! I'm not a vet :)

That is perfect, in that case I wouldn't suggest waiting at all, I'd just upgrade that first day!! :)

NO worries, it's all good. I just didn't want the OP to think she would get extra days on her AP if she waited, because if she'd waited she would miss out on her discounts. :)

I think I have had that same flu. If only there was a permanent cure. These "non-permanent" fixes, although making the symptoms disappear for short times, are costing me a fortune. At least $15000 for each fix :rotfl:

The media really needs to stop focusing on hamthrax and instead look at the increasing cases of mousitis (also known as the Disneyholic plague) striking people across the world!

I totally agree. Swine flu?.............Ha, that's nothing, try mouse flu :lmao: There should be some kind of government rebate aswell, the medication is darn expensive.

I definitely suffer from Mousitis......the symptoms are very easy to follow...and yes, the cure is very $$$$.....LOL
