I have been trying so hard to be good. Eating fruits and veggies instead of snacks. But today I broke down. i had 3 chocolate chip cookies this morning at work, and we had a party for one of my friends bridal shower at lunch. I had 1/2 peice of chocolate cake and 2 huge gooey cookies.

I feel huge and like I have no will power at all. It's depressing and I just feel disgusting and sad.

Sorry I just needed to vent :(

First you are not a failure!! next one slip up - so what! Now you ate these things and you feel miserable - well thats not fun! Feel GREAT! Say I ate some bad stuff I know it was not part of my eating plan its done and I am back on track! You can't be a failure because you recognize that these were not the best choices for you - that makes you a winner!!! Plus as you said you have been eating fruits and veggies and staying away from not so good snacks - THATS GREAT! Try to find some "cheat" food thats not a cheat food to keep w/ you - not sure of what plan you are on but in the eating healthy at the top of this board there are lots of ideas.

So from this second on be back on track! Don't kick yourself cause you slipped - thats not productive.

NOW STAY ON TRACK!!!!:grouphug:

The secret is not to let the occassional oops turn into a daily event! You are going to be fine!!!

OK, it's over. You are working hard on changing your life - no one said it would be easy. You made a mistake and feel crappy. I guess that's your body reminding you of what you should be doing!

We've all had those moments/hours/days where we fell off the wagon and paid the price. Now is the time to get back on that wagon! You aren't disgusting - just remorseful!

I know, for me, that eating just a little sugar can really trigger out-of-proportion cravings. So I have to either really plan to taste a specific amount and expect that I am going to want more and be ready for it, or just NOT TASTE at all. People who are normal weight don't necessarily understand that "just one bite" CAN hurt you!

Good luck. Pixie dust to you to help you feel better right away!

Post again to let us know how you are doing!

Thank you for your kind words and advice. I am feeling a little better now. I am going to take my dog on an extra long walk this evening when I get home. Walking makes me feel better and it's good excercise.

Thank you again.

I'm glad you are doing better now. Remember--we don't waste our energy feeling bad about slip ups because they are over and done, history, in the past, gone with the wind. We can't go back and change it so we focus on right now. Right now it sounds like you are back on track and focused on goal. Excellent!

You are not a failure, sweetie. You're a WISHer and you came here for support. That's a sign of impending success :)

This is such a brilliant insight. Many people ate the way you did without even knowing they were hurting their bodies. Think how far ahead of the game you are.

You are not a parrot. You cannot live on fruits and veggies. You deserve yummy, healthy snacks that aren't carrots and grapes. There is a happy medium and you can find it. For now, you have to forgive your adventure at the "other end of the spectrum."

Your walk sounds like an excellent idea. You'll be back in track in no time.:)
