I feel like a complete idiot...Flying out of Buffalo... Help Please!

Signed up for DING with SW. Now if I could get the answers for the following I think I will be alot smarter.

1. When booking a flight thru DING do the tix come to you or do you have to pick them up? If you have to pick them up then where?
2. Where do you leave your car when flying down? And how much does it cost?
3. Because we are flying out of the US. What happens at customs?

I've never flown out of the US before and I just want to make sure that I have all my I's dotted and Tee's crossed. I feel like a complete idiot but if I know exactly all that takes place from when I book to when I arrive in Florida that would be great. Thanks for your help!

if you book on southwest you get a confimation number you can print out the tickets at home .you can check in on line 24 hours in advance of your flight on line at southwest .when you cross the boarder thats it for customs you gone through in about 2 to 5 mins. then on to the air port and when you land you just pick up luggage then the car and on to disney we do this 3 times a year and its great you park at the airport park and fly or stay over night across from the air port and leave your car there weve done both and never any trouble they have good security and never a problem we have done this for 7 years 3 times a year you will be very happy you did it Parking is about $45 or $55 for the 7 days they pick you up at your car or the standing spot in the parking area i hope this helps you out

1. As Canron said you will get a confirmation number once you've booked your tickets. Once you have your confirmation you can then go on to southwest.com and print your bording passes 24hrs in advance. If you have no checked luggage then you just go thru security at the airport and go to the waiting area for your flight. If you want to check your luggage then you go to curbside or to the southwest desk inside the terminal.
2. You can leave your car at the airport parking lot or stay at a hotel and leave it there for up to 2 wks. www.buffaloairport.com look for parking
3. You will go thru American customs when you cross the border. Tell them you are driving to Buffalo airport and flying from there to Florida. Coming back(Canadian Customs) tell them the same.

I'm really glad you asked these Q's b/c we are looking at flying out of buffalo for the first time in October too!!

Hate not knowing exactly how things are going to be so I completly understand the i's dotted and t's crossed!!!

Ding is great but, as other people have previously pointed out on this forum, you should make sure you monitor the SW site once you are into the booking window for the dates you want to travel.

We just booked last week at $59 each way. This was not a Ding fare. I had been following the fares for a few weeks and that same $59 fare was available the whole time. (We were still deciding whether we wanted to go.) I finally booked it and, when I checked again the next day, the cheapest fare was $139 each way!

Anyways, the point of my post is to encourage you to monitor the prices on the SW site because a non-Ding fare can still be quite good. Also, if you see a non-Ding price you like, you should not delay too long before grabbing it because it could disappear before you know it.

You will get a coupon emailed to you for parking at the airport, its worth it. Otherwise, i would recommend Sunpark which is directly across the street and has excellent shuttle service.
