You know that somewhere at the DLR right now there is a family lining up at the gates and thinking "wow, it's crowded, I wonder if there is some sort of special event today?" And then the wife will send Dad up to ask someone what is going on...

I was just talking to a lady last week that said she was thinking of going to Disneyland this weekend after visiting family in the area and I said "Oh wow right after Carsland opens, that will be an experience" and she said "right after what opens?" . After I explained it she changed her mind!

Some poor family that drove in from the 10 states over for their FIRST EVER trip to Disneyland..and of course they'll only need one day to see everything, right!?!

Yeah, I am always surprised when people don't know what's going on around them. When I am planning on going somewhere, I'm on the internet for a few weeks seeing what's going on, looking at reviews and calenders, planning my time. I know there are people out there that don't have internet and all that, I just don't know any. I realize some people are not Disney fanatics, but there have been commercials on tv for weeks about it.

Spontaneity is a great thing in some circumstances, other times it pays to be prepared.

Up here in Sac we have signs everywhere but then again we are Diser's and we KNOW. I think the average bear EVEN if they know it is new they don't have a CLUE!!

My ac went out and my guy said he was going to be gone till Tues and I said oh where you going and he said DL. I was like WHAAAA. I said do you KNOW what is happening this weekend and he did but he said oh well. And I was like he has NO idea!!! We are going in another week and on a weekday and I am still scared!

The good thing is we are staying at DLH so I am praying that the MM will help!

Yeah I have friends heading there in a couple days. They had no idea about cars land. It's shocking to me how little research some people do (or clearly, don't.)

I guess it's not totally surprising! Before I was a regular on here, I never worked promotions and pins so I always paid way too much with a WDTC package. I had never seen Fantasmic or knew about dessert seating, never knew there was an awesome holiday tour to take, the list goes on! I was missing a lot before I got on here. Now my family thinks I am a scary disney planner, but man o man, do they have a blast when we're there, thanks to my disney related psychosis!!

A co-worker mentioned the other day that they were thinking of going. He knows he has to talk to me first, so I can make sure he knows what he is doing. So, I aske what days he's thinking. July 4-7. I told him ABSOLUTLY NOT to go that weekend. Holiday weekend, that soon after cars opens, for a first trip with two kids under 4? Not a good plan.

I have little patience for people who don't do some pre-planning before going on any vacation. There's a little thing called the internet - they should use it!

We leave bright and early on Monday morning & we're savvy Disneylanders. But - when we booked the Villas at the Grand Californian 11 months ago, we didn't know exactly when Carsland would open (for all we knew - it could open the week after we were there).

We were more concerned about the Grad Nights for when we're there. That's been almost forgotten in all the craziness!

So yes, we'll be utilizing MM too.

It will probably be someone in my fiance's family lol...his aunt and uncle are down there right now without any planning or researching.

I feel bad for them. DL can be rough when it is busy and you have no plan.

I LOVE the DIS boards! Before I found them, I seriously thought I knew it all. and now I know that I had NO clue!!

I just wish they had boards like this for every trip I want to take. I've never been to Hawaii & I need serious planning help but to haven't been able to find a good source like the Dis. oh well- maybe that's why we still haven't been & we keep coming back to Disney!

Except the people that go there not knowing anything- the ones that would be wondering why the lines are long, dont know how to use fast pass, dont know to go early in the morning, etc. Are the ones that come back and say "Disneyland is horrible. Its crowded, we waited in lines for hours, only rode 4 rides and it was expensive. I'm never going back." that is not a good day in Disneyland.

I do research but, I made my reservations before they announced when Cars Land would open. I got a really good deal because I made my reservations so far ahead. I am very upset and scared of the crowds but, what can I do now? Just have to deal with it.

thats why we as dissers have to spread the word of how to utilize all the info we learn and pass along go to this site before you go to dl or wdw and learn all the tricks and trades to make the best out your once a year trips or one in life time trips.

I do feel bad for some but come on if you are planing to go to dl in the summer for a summer vacation you would think i should find out about parades, shows and ride closuers or openings. its some what commin since

I have an Internet friend who mentioned a week ago that they were going to Disney from June 18-21. I said wow you are brave with Cars Land opening the Friday before. She had no clue that there was even a Cars Land much less that it was opening so close to when they were going. I was shocked.
