I expected to see this board exploding

D’Amaro may be the pick but he isn’t near ready. Disney is so much more than what we see in the Parks and I don’t, and apparently Iger/ BOD, think he has the business acumen required for that job. It’s more than being a happy face walking through the Parks.

Regarding Iger, there will never be another like him in that position so I hope that’s not what everyone is hoping for. Iger set Disney up for financial success for decades, which is why I’m so shocked at your statement. I get you may not like certain things but most issues people complain about were a result of Chapek or more likely D’Amato(I mean, he IS in charge of Parks). Iger is one of the greatest CEO’s of our generation. Period.

I disagree. The Fox merger was a bad move. I will say that if Iger brings back Joe Rhode, I will be kinder to him in the future.

Pixar, Marvel …those are deals no one else could have pulled off. Even if you don’t like the Fox deal it sets them up for the future. So the potential is there and it makes them an entertainment giant

What changes are you referring to? Don‘t forget, Iger retired multiple times before finally leaving. He was merely keeping things running while they searched for his replacement -he wasn’t making any earth-shattering changes to Parks the last 5-years he was there.

Makes for a miserable experience waiting in standby. If you have a couple hours check out how much worse it is for line distribution

I have no idea who created Genie + but it rolled out in 2021 so I have a feeling he was “gone” at that time. Whoever it was, the concept is good as far as I’m concerned -the rollout/application may not be the greatest…. Although I used it and honestly it was as good or better than fast pass. Unless you don’t want to spend $15 or whatever, but I’m spending $2000 on a week in Disney …what’s another $100/person.

I've watched it when it first came out. I never liked FP+ either. My hope when they went to Genie+ was make it similar to Universals.

I had a busy weekend, and this is the first I heard. (And I can't say I actually follow this stuff closely anyway.)

But I think Disney, in a way, needs two leaders working together - the idea man/idealist and the financial man/realist, to balance each other the way Walt and Roy did in the old days.

We'll see how he does.
