I Dragged a Grumpy DH Back to the World and He (Kinda) Liked It...10/29 UPDATE!!

Ugh, that stinks about Splash Mountain but atleast when you tried the second time the line actually moved.

I love Wishes too. The first time I saw it I bawled. It was very embarrassing. LOL!

Cute pictures from CMs even though a certain husband was not having a good time...

:rotfl2: Love the picture of Donald with Flat Rachel!

Thanks! You should've seen Donald's face when I gave her to him. He thought we were nuts. :lmao:

Yeah, I was annoyed at first but at least it went really quickly when we hopped back in line. I was bummed the CM was such an idiot, though. :rolleyes1

Ha! I'm sure you're not the first person to do that. I always read where people are choked up by it. It's so great!!

Thanks! If only Aaron wouldn't have been so grumpy....such a wet blanket. I have to admit, I do love his sour puss face in the pictures. :lmao::rotfl:

HAHA!!! OMG I love the picture of Donald holding flat Rachel. LOL!!!! Too funny.

Aaron looked thrilled, lmao!!

What is this about your butt?? LMAO can't wait to hear about this one.

DAY FIVE, PART TWO

After breakfast, we hopped on the monorail to head over to the Poly. Can I just how much I LOVE the monorail? Seriously, I could just ride it around all day and be content. Ok, maybe just a half day...but still. :lovestruc Here's a picture of a relieved Aaron as we left CR. You can almost see the relief and joy in his eyes.

6016_962543178659_6852884_53531486_7617499_n.jpg

This was our first time checking out the Poly. SWOON!! It completely won both of us over. Besides WL, it is definitely my favorite resort. It even wooed the most grumpy, Disney hating DH! Aaron LOVED it. :woohoo: In fact, he said we could stay there (even after I told him the cost) on our next trip. :yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay:

6016_963136260119_6852884_53562257_7321214_n.jpg

Yeah, I think this is one of the main reasons why he liked it so much. He looked soooo comfy in that hammock that I thought, "Hey, I want to get in one too." I was obviously not very smart that day, b/c I wore the shortest sun dress ever and still thought I could hop right into one of those. Um...NOT too swift. While in the process of plopping by big butt in the hammock, I proceeded to FALL...not before the entire back part of my dress went up near my head. :scared1::eek::scared1::eek: Yep, I flashed everyone! I feel really bad for anyone who was trying to get a peek at the Magic Kingdom at that precise moment. They sure got a view of something...:rolleyes1 Thankfully, Aaron had just snapped a picture right before it happened and NONE during. Not that I would've scarred you all by sharing them even if he had. Lesson of the day...DO NOT GET SIT IN A HAMMOCK WHILE WEARING AN OBSCENELY SHORT DRESS. Wait, another lesson: DO NOT BUY OBSCENELY SHORT DRESS!

Thankfully, no Disney police arrested me for public indecency. I did manage to get a few pictures of Flat Rachel enjoying the Poly before all that happened.

After the flashing escapade, we decided it was best we left the Poly before we scarred anyone else for life. We took the monorail back over to CR and hopped on the boat back to CR. Here's a picture of WL as we were approaching the boat dock.

6016_962543193629_6852884_53531489_5578871_n.jpg

We went back to WL and I convinced Aaron to go swimming! :woohoo: This was huge, b/c he's not typically a swimming type of guy. I tried so hard to get him to go down the slide with me. No luck! :headache: However, I definitely got a lot of use out of the slide. I was the only adult going down it that wasn't w/ a kid. :lmao: Oh well, I had a blast and I only elbowed on kid out of the way. :rolleyes1 Totally kidding! We also go to see the infamous ducks in the pool. At one point, there was 15 ducks in there!

We headed back to our room, showered and got ready to head to DTD. I was really hoping there would be some pin traders out that evening. Sadly, I didn't see any. Last year, I was able to trade for a HTF monorail pin so I was hoping I'd have the same luck this year. Bummer. I bought my nephews some birthday gifts, and picked up a Nightmare Before Christmas ornament for my BFF's little girl. We also headed over to Goofy's Candy Company for Aaron. Here is the only proof Aaron was ever happy in the World:

Then, we decided to head over to Flippers Pizzeria to grab some dinner. Yum!! BEST. PIZZA. EVER!!!!! We were sad to head back to the hotel, knowing this was our last night at WL. Friday, we were downgrading to Pop for our last night in Florida. Sad! But, we were really excited to be heading to Universal/Island's of Adventure.

Next up...walking right onto the Hulk and getting stuck in a log!

HAHA!!! OMG I love the picture of Donald holding flat Rachel. LOL!!!! Too funny.

Aaron looked thrilled, lmao!!

What is this about your butt?? LMAO can't wait to hear about this one.

Haha, isn't that great? I really wish I had a video of the moment I gave it to him. His reaction was priceless.

It was a very unfortunate incident that involved a hammock at the Poly. NOT GOOD!!! :sad2:

I've been to Ohana four times but haven't checked out the Poly once! Taking care of that next trip for sure. Those hammocks look like heaven. :cloud9: Well, maybe not so much for chicks in short dresses :lmao: .....

LOL at the image of you elbowing kids out of the way to go down the slide... and love the pic of Aaron at Goofy's -- a big smile!

Looking forward to your Universal update.... I went there over 15 years ago and can't remember a thing!

Woo hoo, glad you BOTH liked the Polynesian! I really want to stay there again...if only they would make DVC villas there we'd be all set!

DAY SIX, PART ONE

Today was our last day at WL. :sad1: I loved it far more than I even thought I would. I can't imagine going back to the World and not staying here. Well, ok I could make an exception for the Poly! :lovestruc We had our bags transferred over to Pop and we hopped in the car to head over to Universal! We made great time and actually got to the Island's of Adventure gate right at 9am. Go us! Of course, Flat Rachel had to stop for a photo op:

6016_962567065789_6852884_53533210_2900483_n.jpg

We made a bee line straight to the Hulk. Sweet, we were able to walk right on! Love, love, LOVE that ride!!! Since my bag was in the little storage locker (you have to store all your stuff before you ride) I figured we should ride a few more times. We rode it a total of three times before 9:30!!

6016_962557874209_6852884_53532706_3101478_n.jpg

I couldn't believe how uncrowded the park was. I was hoping it'd stay like that all day. We headed over to do Dr. Doom Fear Fall, which we both thought was pretty underwhelming. You shoot up really fast and then it's pretty much over. BOO! We did Spiderman (which we both love) and then decided to head over to Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls. We decided to wear our ponchos b/c we didn't want another episode of wet-butt plaguing us for the day.

6016_962557854249_6852884_53532705_1711353_n.jpg

The ride itself is a blast! But, they request that you squeeze into these ridiculously teeny logs. No joke. I should mention, I'm 6' and have abnormally LONG legs. I had been on it before, and never had any issues. I even sat in the tester log in front of the ride and had no problem. Well, this time there was an issue. First, I had to contort my body in a way that was just right to even get into the log. UGH! Then, the stupid ride operators sent our log off before I was properly inside the log. LOSERS! :headache: So, my right leg was bent up under this lap bar and I couldn't move it to a normal position...I WAS STUCK! I spent the whole ride trying to move my leg. Finally, I got unstuck it right before we went down the final drop. Phew! Wait, then I realized how the heck am I going to get out of this thing?! I seriously thought they were going to have to use the jaws of life to get my out. It was awful! It took me about five minutes to de-wedge myself from that stupid log. UGH! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!

On to happier things...we headed over to Popeye's, which is very similar to KRR. Even though I swore I would never ride KRR again, I wanted to ride Popeye's. so, we grabbed our ponchos and decided to brave it. Big mistake! We still got soaked! Thankfully, we were able to dry a lot easier than the other day. No wet butt for me!

We decided to skip Jurassic Park and headed over to Dueling Dragons. This coaster is awesome! It has two sides, Fire and Ice. At one point, the two come w/in 12-15" of each other! I highly suggest riding both sides at least once b/c each side is different. I think Ice was my favorite. It really looks like you're going to crash into the other coaster. SO cool!! We were able to ride this three times with NO wait. SWEET!!! :yay:

Dueling Dragons will actually be a part of the new Harry Potter area. I saw this sign and it got me so excited. It's going to be so cool! I can't wait to go!!!!!

6016_962557889179_6852884_53532707_161343_n.jpg

We headed back over to do the Hulk one more time before lunch. I should mention that at this point it was just about 1pm and we had managed to do everything in the park we wanted to do in just about 4 hours! The crowds were nonexistent. Loved it! We grabbed lunch at Comic Strip Cafe. One bad thing about Universal -- there counter service sucks! We both got a cheeseburger and it was really dry and not very good. We did manage to head out to Toon Lagoon and grab some cute pictures before hading over to the Studios.

Up next...Universal Studios!!!

Ooh, how is Ohana's? I just made an ADR for breakfast. It looks like it'd be a lot of fun! You should definitely check out the Poly. It is such a gorgeous resort! Just steer clear of the hammocks if you have on a dress or skirt. :rolleyes1

Haha, I know. I should've felt shameful but I don't regret it. I had a blast on the slide! :rotfl:

A lot has changed since then! You should try to go back once they open the Harry Potter section at Island's of Adventure. It's a lot of fun, but different than Disney (especially the food). We had a blast!!

Woo hoo, glad you BOTH liked the Polynesian! I really want to stay there again...if only they would make DVC villas there we'd be all set!

The Poly...SWOON!!! :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc That would be really cool if they had DVC there. Sadly, that probably won't happen but we can dream! I can't wait to stay there someday.

I actually just covered our breakfast at Ohana's in my TR. We love it there, it's my family's favorite breakfast hands down and is a lot of fun.

You've put the bug in my head to check it out again. :thumbsup2 I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see the Harry Potter section. I let out a little eek! when I saw your HP picture!

OOOOH so glad you got to see some of the Harry Potter construction!!!

Glad you guys didn't have any crowds. That's great!

Okay, I'm probably the lamest TR writer ever! This whole thing has been an epic fail. Oh well, I'm determined to do three things:

1) FINALLY finish this thing after four months.
2) Start a new PTR for my January trip (only 43 days left!!!)
3) Start and complete a catchy, snazzy, interesting TR for our January trip.

Oh yeah, I can do it.

DAY SIX, PART TWO]

So, we headed over to the Studios. Ah, the memories. I don't remember if I mentioned this, but I actually did an internship with Universal back in 2005. It was probably the worst few months of my life, only b/c the internship really blew. I didn't learn anything except how to be a snarky b$#@h to guests -- my supervisor was a snark master. Anyhoo...wondering around the Studios made me think of the good memories I had of my internship.

The first item on the agenda was to ride the new(ish) Simpson's ride. On our way over there, I had to stop and pay homage to Marge:

6016_962557894169_6852884_53532708_3265304_n.jpg

If only I hadn't left my string of pearls back in the room...

We loved the theming for the ride. It poke fun of Disney...A LOT, though. I guess I can overlook that. :rolleyes1

We actually went on the ride twice b/c we had a rather unpleasant experience the first time. in case some of you don't know how it's set up, they usher a group of no more than 8 into a teeny-weeny holding room where they show a pre-ride video. Well, there was a woman in our group that was completely intoxicated. She would not shut-up and kept repeating EVERYTHING they said on the video in this high-pitched, drunken voice. The worst part was, she was with two kids that looked about 15ish. Once we got onto the ride vehicle, she was sceaming at the top of her lungs that she was going to die if she didn't catch Side Show Bob. So needless to say, the first ride was not enjoyable. I did report her to one of the workers, but I doubt they probably did anything. :sad2:

After that lovely experience, we decided to head over to ride the Mummy. We LOVE this ride!! Plus, the wait time was about 10 minutes so we wound up riding it three times. Sweet!

We wanted to go check out the new rollercoaster, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, but the wait time was ridiculous -- 300 minutes! I did take a picture, though:

6016_962557974009_6852884_53532722_3907727_n.jpg

After that, we decided to head over back over to IOA. We wanted to ride the Hulk and Dueling Dragons one more time. Afterwards, we decided to call it a day and headed over to the Prime Outlets where I scored some really awesome deals on some pins. I got all these pins for about $25.

6016_962558038879_6852884_535327-1.jpg

DAY SIX, PART THREE

After we hit the outlet, we grabbed some dinner at Sweet Tomatoes. Yep, I just can't get enough of this place. I'm strongly considering starting a petition to have them bring one to Bloomington. If only...

We decided to spend the last night of our trip at Pop Century. I had received a pin code last year, and we were able to get Pop for a steal! Well, then we decided to rent DVC points but we didn't want to pay the increase for staying over on a Friday night. So...we decided to just stay one night at Pop for a cheap rate. Anyway, after the long-winded explanation...we checked into Pop that night. I had requested a king room but really didn't think we'd get it. Low and behold, we did! We were in a pretty sweet location, too -- the 70's building next to the ginormous Big Wheel. I'm not sure if all the king rooms are accessible, or just some of them. Ours was an accessible room. It was really quite spacious, plus it had a mini-fridge included. Aaron was really creeped out by the bathroom, though. He said it looked like a big shower with a toilet in it. :sad2: I had to explain we were in an accessible room.

WDW2009411-2.jpg

Notice that last picture...Stacy! Too bad the new version is LAME!!! I'm still bitter about the change. :headache:

Once we settled into our room, we headed over to Classic Hall to grab a drink. Aaron wanted to play in the arcade for a little bit, too. I was really bummed we were leaving the next morning. Aaron, on the other hand, was elated! He was on Disney overload.

The next morning, we decided to grab breakfast at the airport. We had no problem getting our bags checked. I was a little bummed that I wasn't able to check-in earlier for our flight. But, our flight was pretty empty and our seats weren't too bad. It was such a sad feeling to be heading back to reality. My post-Disney depression really started kicking in. SAD!

Until next time...

YEAH, you're back!:banana: I'm heading over to your PTR now...
