Welcome to my very first trip report! As I cope with a severe case of PDD (Post Disney Depression) :sad1:, my hope is that this TR will bring some solace to my suffering. Plus, I love to ramble on and on about random things so I think that will help too!

For those of you who are new, WELCOME! :welcome: For those of you who followed me over from my PTR, thanks for sticking with me. Here's a link to my PTR for anyone who is interested.

Stay tuned for our first day...a PO'd kitty, crazy fun flight attendant, how Aaron spent his first moments at WDW and what the heck is up with Flat Rachel?!

OMGosh am I first?! :cool1: Can't wait to hear all about your adventures! We can read each other's TRs to help us with our post-Disney blues. haha!

Flat Rachel is awesome. :thumbsup2

Wow I can't beleive you justgot back and are already starting a trip report. I to suffer from post disney depression, and have discovered a cure by reading others trip reports and living vicarioulsy through them.

I'M TOTALLY IN!! :woohoo:

Can't wait to hear about the Wilderness Lodge, the trip, the pins---everything! So glad you started a TR. This will keep me occupied at least for the next few weeks. I'm trying to keep my mind off of the impending October trip, it goes faster when you aren't counting down the hours. :rolleyes1

I'm here! Ran over from my TR as fast as my chubby legs would carry me! Can't wait to read all about your trip!

WOO!! Hey Sarah...welcome! I need all the help I can get to get over this post Disney depression. I think I just need to quit my job and go live down there. :thumbsup2

Ha, thanks! She really really enjoyed herself down there. :rotfl: It was a last minute decision and I'm SO glad I brought her along. It was awesome and hilarious!

Ha! I had to start quickly. Otherwise, I'd be stuck catching up on all the work I missed while I was gone. And lets face it, who wants to do that?! :rolleyes1

Oh, and I love reading TRs for the same reason! It's so much fun to see what other people are doing while they are down there.

I'M TOTALLY IN!! :woohoo:

Hey Anne! I can't believe you're October ticker is getting so low -- crazy. By tomorrow, you'll be able to say you're going to Disney next month. :lmao: Yes, I'm completely aware how sad I am. :rolleyes1

Haha, Beka you crack me up! I'm loving your TR, btw. Good luck on your test tomorrow!!!

DAY ONE, PART ONE

Let me just start off by saying I was a complete mess in the morning! I woke up at 3am all ready to go. Then, I realized I still had about four hours until the alarm went off. D'oh! :headache: I was way too excited to sleep, so I just laid there for a couple more hours and decided to get up. I hopped in the shower, and then had a brilliant idea! I decided to Disney-fy myself by watching the Full House episodes where they go to WDW. YES! These two episodes are the BEST television...EVER. Ok, I exaggerate but they are pretty darn awesome! Btw, they're available on YouTube here if anyone is interested. So, anyway...I get really excited realizing that in just a few SHORT hours I'll be on my way to my happy place. WOO!!! Finally, I realize that it's 7am and Aaron's out of bed. He thinks I'm nuts for being completely dressed and ready to go so early. Then, he realized what I was watching and thought I was even crazier. Psh, whatever. :cool2:

My mom was kind of enough to give us a ride to the Indianapolis airport. It's about an hour north of Bloomington. She dropped by our house and I gave her a quick rundown of all the things she needed to know for our cats (we have two). We packed the car and we were about to leave, when I looked up and saw this:

6016_963136250139_6852884_53562256_1367785_n.jpg

Our poor cat, Linus, was so distraught by us leaving. He watched us through our kitchen window until the car was out of sight. Poor cat...he was ticked! Oh well, sorry kitty...we're going to Disney World! Ha, I sound like such a bad pet owner. :guilty:

We made it to the airport by 10am and our flight didn't leave until 11:30. So, we decided to head to the food court and grab some breakfast. We're on vacation, so what better way to start eating great than to get a tasty, greasy sausage biscuit from McDonald's. Mmmm. You can see Aaron was pondering the greatness of his meal:

After breakfast, we headed towards our gate. We flew on Southwest and b/c I'm obsessed with checking in exactly 24-hours beforehand, we got pretty sweet boarding passes. We got A-19 and A-20. Our flight wasn't very full, so that meant we were the first to board -- which means we got this:

6016_962406148269_6852884_53524254_2989682_n.jpg

No, not new shoes...TONS of leg room! WOO for bulk head seating!!! :woohoo: I was really excited -- doesn't take much. The flight was actually a blast. We had the funniest flight attendant ever. He always used some form of crazy accent when he talked, joked all the time and made the flight A LOT of fun. This was a plus, since I'm really freaked out by flying. He made the time pass so quickly! We even arrived a little ahead of schedule, WOOT!! Once we got off the plane, we headed towards the airport monorail -- I love this thing!

6016_962406153259_6852884_53524255_6746383_n.jpg

We didn't have to wait long for our luggage, and then we headed to pick up our rental car. At the last minute, I found a really sweet Alamo code and wound up getting a compact for $124/week! Here's a pic of our little, blurry ride:

Finally...we were off to the Wilderness Lodge!

Kirsten, girl, I like your sense of :worship: humor! Subscribing...

I'm here! Ran over from my TR as fast as my chubby legs would carry me! Can't wait to read all about your trip!

So now, all of us who are in the process of writing TRs are reading each other's--how funny! It is interesting to see different choices and perspectives, isn't it.

haha, love that you watched the Disney Full House episodes! I love those shows. :thumbsup2 And the picture of your cat is too cute.

YAY for the Wilderness Lodge!

I'M HERE!!!!!! So looking forward to this TR!

LMAO at the flat Rachel lol!!!

Aww poor Linus. LOL!!! That's so cute.

I love South West! We always have a great flight, and they make us laugh!!! I'm obsessed with checking in 24 hours too, lol.

Hi there  I'm in! Your sense of humour sounds kinda like mine ;) so I feel like I'm in for a good read! Can't see your pics yet (work blocks them, grrrr) but flat Rachel sounds hysterical!

We flew Southwest too and the flight attendants were a hoot! Singing, rhyming, totally making stuff up just to see who was listening.... they were a blast!

Our vacations crossed a few days, I was Aug15 to Aug25 at the Pop. Wonder if our paths crossed?! And I'm doing the exact thing as you and a few others here..... I'm making my TR long and reading a bunch of others so I don't quit my job and go live there. :thumbsup2

Ok, I love reading TR's, but hate how I have to wait day to day to read them! I am so impatient! I just want you to hurry up and finish already! LOL....like you have nothing else to do...:rotfl:

I, too, have a Disney-hating Dh or DHdh...and he has forbade me anymore trips to Disney, but I have all four of our kids working on him, as well as a family reunion next December in the works...be prepared...

Woo, your kitty looks TICKED. Makes me glad I have dogs! ;)

Yahooty!!! Welcome home!

Yep, your kitty looks mighty ticked  My old fart kitty doesn't get mad at me before we leave, he gets his revenge when we get home (yes, he only gets his revenge on me LOL).

LOVE all that legroom on your flight! Fingers crossed for us, but my hopes aren't high on that front :sad2:

Can't wait for the next installment!!! popcorn::

:welcome:

Thanks for stopping in!

I love to read everyone else's TRs. Although sometimes, it makes me sad b/c I realize I completely missed out on something I forgot to do. There is a positive to that too -- encourages me to plan another trip!! Like I really need any encouragement there...:rolleyes1

I'm off to checkout your TR!

Great start! Can't wait to hear more. popcorn::

Thanks Anne!! At first, I'm like...what should I put in here? Do people really need to see a picture of my awesome leg room?? Of course they do!! :rotfl2:

haha, love that you watched the Disney Full House episodes! I love those shows. :thumbsup2 And the picture of your cat is too cute.

YAY for the Wilderness Lodge!

Ha, Full House is the best! :thumbsup2

Didn't you just LOVE the Lodge? SWOON!!! :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

Lynn!!! How are you?

Don't you love Flat Rachel? I was so glad I brought her along. You should've seen the looks I got w/ her. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I felt so bad for Linus. He watched us as we got into the car and I could tell he was meowing. Aaron was cracking up, my mom and I were sad for him.

Southwest is the BEST! Plus, it's super cheap so that makes it even better. :thumbsup2 The seating is a little stressful...but only when you're not in group A.

Yay, welcome!! :wave2:

Yeah, my sense of humor is a little dry mixed in w/ A LOT of random things I find hysterical but others...well, they don't so much. :rolleyes1

Ha, I love when the flight attendants sing. It cracks me up! It's such a great airline!

I look forward to reading your TR to see if we did cross paths. I know I saw one DISer at WL. I felt so accomplished and excited! DH thought I was crazy. :rotfl:

Btw, I think we all just need start up a commune (nothing too hippy, though...I do have some standards) down there and forget the real world. Sound good?

Ok, I love reading TR's, but hate how I have to wait day to day to read them! I am so impatient! I just want you to hurry up and finish already! LOL....like you have nothing else to do...:rotfl:

Welcome!!

Ha, I know exactly what you're talking about! I generally skim through them just looking for the next update...especially the pictures. I promised myself that I'd try to stay on top of my TR. Whoops, already failed on that one. :rolleyes1

Don't you just wish you'd have that one moment that would just completely win over your DHdh? Love your idea of having the kids work him over. Good luck!!!!! :goodvibes You have to keep me posted on how that goes!!!

Woo, your kitty looks TICKED. Makes me glad I have dogs! ;)

He was seriously PO'd. Poor thing. He has some serious issues!

Yahooty!!! Welcome home!

Thanks Lisa!!

Ha, don't you love how cats react to things. They are so...different. What does your cat do for revenge? Ours just follow us around EVERYWHERE -- even to the bathroom.

Oooh, I'm sending you some awesome leg-room jojo for your trip. :goodvibes:goodvibes

I know, I know...I promise to be better w/ the updates!!

Ooo! Excited can't wait to see more and see how DH (grumpy) enjoys his trip!

Welcome aboard!! :)

DAY ONE, PART TWO

After we picked up our wonderful, little red car we were on our way to the Wilderness Lodge...via Wal-Mart. :crazy2: Yep, we love to start our vacations out right! :rolleyes1 Really, we had to stop and grab Aaron some Diet Coke or he'd start getting the shakes or something. We stopped at the Wal-Mart off Osceola Parkway. Now, I normally vow to never step foot in a Wal-Mart on a weekend. I typically get hives, shout obscenities and go crazy. But, we made an exception. This place was CRAZY!! We had a hard time finding a parking spot, the police were hanging out in the parking lot...arresting someone and there were people EVERYWHERE. We ran in, got our stuff and got out in somewhat of a timely fashion. Sorry, no pictures from our Wal-Mart stop. Sad, I know. :guilty:

Finally! It's about 3:30 and we're off to the Wilderness Lodge. No more stops this time...I SWEAR! The traffic wasn't too bad, and it only took us about 15-20 minutes to make it to this glorious site:

6016_962406173219_6852884_53524258_893961_n.jpg

Can I just say, I LOVE these gates!!! I also love the purple signs, too. Sadly, I didn't get any pictures of those. :sad2: Since it was our first time staying at a Magic Kingdom resort, I was even more excited to pull through the MK parking gates to get to the Lodge. Again, didn't get a picture of that either. I know. :sad2: I blame Aaron. I was driving...and being responsible. Otherwise, I would've taken TONS of pictures of all the obscure things...like road signs, Disney buses and all that cool stuff! Anyway, we pulled up to the Wilderness Lodge at about 3:50ish. Behold, the Wilderness Lodge in all its glory ::insert sigh and swoon here::

6016_963140496629_6852884_53562495_1476944_n.jpg

It was love at first sight! :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc Seriously, that place took my breath away. When you first walk in...stunning! We headed straight to check-in. We were only the second people in line. However, all the CMs (about four-five in total) were helping other guests at the desk. Those people must have asked a GAZILLION questions b/c it took quite a long time for us to make it to a CM. I overhead one person asking why you had to have to pay park admission to eat at Le Cellier and another person asking if they were at Pop Century. Oy vey! Finally, it was our turn. I requested a water view studio. We were placed in room 1555. I was so excited to see our room!

Here's our "water" view:

Some pics of the room (don't mind Aaron, he crashed as soon he got to the room...on that icky comforter, no less -- any of you ever see the Dateline special???):
