Quite frankly, your uncle sounds like an idiot. I'm 40 and still single. I'm not going to get married just because a member of my family or society thinks I should. I'm still looking for Mr. Right and I'm not going to settle. If he never comes along, so be it. I'm still going to be having fun in life, regardless.

Here are some of my pat comments to people who ask me such moronic questions:

"It will take a great man to be better than no man."

"Better to be alone than wish you were alone."

"50% of adults are divorced, and the other 50% wish they were."

And to a co-worker (a woman) who, when I turned 32, said to me "32! You'd better get married soon!!!!" I responded "I don't know why you think I would be happier married when all you do is gripe and talk awful about your husband all the time."
