I don't think I could pull off a big surprise trip...

I could never ever do it. We spend a lot of time talking about your trip with our 6 kids. Half the fun is marking off the days on the calendar, planning what rides we're going to ride first, talking about our ressies and asking them where they want to eat and rehashing stories from previous trips.

We also use it a lot to get them to do their school work (we homeschool) and other things, LOL

And they love to help organize, pack and we make trips every week to the store to pick up a few things here and there the two months before our trip.

I couldn't do it cause it seems like taking away so much from them and us as a family and bonding :)

Even my 15 year old who usually can't get his nose out of the computer ends up spending more time with the younger kids talking about all the things we're going to do and him and his 13 year old sister will try to talk the younger kids into riding the new rides they are tall enough to ride.

We also start measuring their height a couple months out and look up what new things they can ride and how far they are from getting to ride the next ride they need to grow from. We mark it on the wall and they often go measure themselves again :)
