I don't think I can handle one more health concern for my DD.

I just wish this kid could catch a break!

I took her into Boston for her annual check-up. She is a cancer survivor. YAY!!!! While we were going over her health and any concerns, I mentioned she complains of back pain after walking any kind of distance. They ordered x-rays and told me she has scoliosis...WTH!!! This poor kids seems to get EVERYTHING and I feel so sad for her. She is seven and has gone through cancer which left her with Horne's syndrome, and years of physical therapy, unrelated kidney issues, bad teeth (cavities and 3 teeth pulled last week), learning issues (having her tested), repeated ear infections, nerve damage to her left arm and a droopy left eye and now SCOLIOSIS!!!! I just want to cry for her, but I hold it together because she seems so un-phased and happy. This girl is happy 24-7!!! It is amazing!!!

I thank God every day for the blessings already given. I know I should be happy that she is alive and with me....and trust me I AM!!! I am so glad she is happy but, I just want her to catch a break!!!

okay, vent over....Thanks for letting me get that out...;)

But your daughter can apparently handle anything that comes her way!!! She sounds like quite the inspiration-how fortunate for both of you!Wishing her much happiness in her future.:goodvibes

Vent away. We moms sometimes need to scream and stamp our feet at the unfairness of it all. And sure, we understand that things could be worse--but they could be better too~! You daughter sounds like a delightful girl and I"m sure she will draw her strength from you. It's okay to be upset--who wouldn't be? You're a caring, concerned mom. And some day your daughter will want to be just like you.:goodvibes

My 8 year old lives a very similar life....and we had 2 bad doctors appointments a week and a half ago, one was her scoloisis progressed to the point that we need to brace 20 hours a day (picking it up today...) and the other was in oncology....hope both of our kids catch a break soon...I cant take any more!

awwww:hug: Big hugs to you too!!! Many of my DDs health issues stem from the cancer diagnosis from years ago. It is like a constant reminder....

Thanks to everyone for the kind words.:) I just needed to vent.

 I'm sorry to hear about the scoliosis.

My husband has this and so does/did my daughter (not sure what it's called after surgery?). I hope in your case it's just a mild annoyance but with pain when she walks sounds like it's progressing.

My daughter had surgery for it about 2 years ago as hers kept progressing.

Luckily, scoliosis isn't nearly as life threatening as cancer.

I'm so sorry for all the you and your daughter are going through. ONe of my best friends survived Leukemia at 17 and now has a host of health problems related to the treatments and bone marrow transplant. I taught a student last year who had survived leukemia as well and there were some medical/cognitive issues because of it.

I will be praying for you and for your daughter. Hopefully things will start lookigng up.

Sounds like you have a little trooper on your hands!

I'm not a parent, so I can not even imagine what you are going through, but try to keep your head up and remember that your Disney family is always here when you need to talk/vent!

My heart goes out to both of you. I had no idea that cancer could cause so many other complications. It must be hard on you guys.:hug:Here's hoping you catch a break soon!!!

It's tough being a Mom! What's great is that your daughter is a happy child.

Hang in there.

Hope things get easier soon. Sounds like you've got a great daughter! :goodvibes

 Sounds like your daughter can handle this, but dang! Sometimes you just want to scream.

 That's a lot.

My son has been through a lot lately with anxiety, adhd, and sensory integration disorder, but nothing life threatening and I'm very thankful for that.

Your daughter will grow up to be an amazing woman, having gone through everything and coming out such a happy child.

:grouphug:

 I couldn't even imagine what you guys have been through. Keep venting away! Glad to hear your DD is happy though. I hope things start moving in a better direction for you!

You might considering getting out of the medical realm for this, as it often isn't something that has to be fixed in the medical realm.

I would find a very very very very very very VERY gentle chiropractor who has her full history and knows to be gentle with her, and see if there's a root cause with a tiny vertebral subluxation that has changed the way her spine is. I like Network Spinal Analysis, and I'm currently under a type of chiro called BGI, but there aren't BGI people everywhere (actually, Network can be hard to find, too).
