I've been lurking around these boards for years, but don't post much (my single digit post-o-meter to the left is a glaring reminder of this fact). I can manage the whole respond-to-a-post thing, but beyond that, I'm clueless.

Say some people respond to this post, and then I want to quote one of their posts and respond back...yikers! I may as well attempt to do calculus, because the end result will be the same. Can anyone tell me how to do this? And what about those posts that have quotes from multiple responders???? How in the world is that accomplished?

I appreciate any help! Oh, and hello to everyone! Tiggertail223 from NC introducing herself!

Glad to have you joining us! Now see at the bottom of my post where it says "quote". Press that and my post will show up in a reply post for you to reply. Type something back to me and submit the reply.

Thanks! :) I almost feel ready to take on that calculus!

But you just joined last month, and I joined in 2002! :scared1:

I've learned a lot about Disney by lurking, but feel guilty for being all take and no give! :)

The real challenge is the multi quote. That took me a lot of trial and error before I figured it out. We all have a learning curve. I also got confused with posting photos. Eventually there is always someone nice enough to point you in the right direction. ;)

Okay, so how do I get to someone else's post to quote them, and then have multi-quotes in this message? The only thing I can see to do is copy and paste, and I know that isn't it.

Now I'm responding again, trying to see if I can take out portions of your quote.

Okay...you see the quotation marks on the bottom right (next to the quote button). Click that on as many of the different posts as you want to respond to and then when you are ready to start typing, hit quote on the last one (BTW...when you click on the quote marks, they will turn red so you know that is now multi-quoted). Then you will see all the different posts quoted as you go to type. Use your preview button to see what it looks like if you get confused.

Thank you! I'm off to try it now!!

This is my second attempt...somehow my first attempt disappeared (couldn't have been anything I did (I just tried bolding - I think I'm out of control!!)

You're doing wonderfully!! :) :thumbsup2 Keep trying, and it will all be so clear soon enough! ;)

I think you've got it now. Heck...the multi quote still leaves me dazed and confused at times if I'm not concentrating.

I haven't tried the multi-quote thing yet, but I'll be happy to tutor you in Calculus :)

You have no idea what you'd be taking on with that offer!!!

Thank you to everyone who offered help and encouragement. You all are a very friendly group!

Sure I do--- this is year #22 teaching math.:scared1:

Geez, if I'd known this I would have been after you last evening while my daughter was trying to figure out her geometry homework. Sorry to admit, I had no idea how to use the protractor and don't even remember using one when I was in school! :confused3

I'm so glad you asked these questions. I knew about the single quote post, but had no idea how to do a multiple quote! Thanks for coming out of hiding to ask what some of us were too nervous to ask! ;)

I'm not trying to show off with my ability to multi-quote or anything, but I just couldn't resist seeing if I retained my knowledge from last night! :)
