I don't know if I want to do online check in

We're doing a split stay so I've decided to do the on-line check in for POR (where we have no requests) but not for AOA (we'll be checking in at about 8am but don't need the room until 8pm and we have specific requests). Its our first time since 2000 and Im dying to try the on-line check in.

we did NOT do online check in (I had specific request to be by the laundry room)

arrived at Contemporary and i walked up to be helped- no line what so ever.
About 6-7 people behind that area waiting to check people in.

I did not get my request-- i was put in the further out building as possible.
no big deal- jsut had to shlep my stuff a little further.

Next time we go we are going to NOT make request and just whisper to the fairies what our wishes are and maybe--just maybe someone will hear us

On the other hand, we've been leary about it because we've requested adjoining rooms with my parents, who won't be arriving until around 6 pm (we'd read elsewhere that if you do online check in, your odds are lower of having an adjoining room request granted).

So we've been torn on what to do.

You do know that adjoining rooms are just rooms that are near to each other, right? If you want the inside door between the 2 rooms you should have requested connecting rooms.

I'm not sure if I will be doing on line check in again or not. Typically I've received better room locations when I haven't. Also, half our our group is arriving the next day, so I'm not sure if doing on line check in would help make sure they are near us or not.

And then there was my on line check in fiasco at the Music resort. My packet wasn't ready and it was because they had downgraded me from a preferred room to a standard room. I'm guessing someone else who arrived before me pitched a fit because they wanted a better room location, so they gave my room away.
