I Don't Know, I Don't Speak Wind!!

pixiedust:HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!pixiedust:

Wow, that must have been very exciting for Drew!
It looks like so much fun to be there immersed in all the festivities and sharing the countdown with the TONS of people coming together from all over the world.
Very cool! I bet he took some fantastic pics!

Oh, there was definitely a bunch of Monster High dolls under the tree for Lexi.
I think she plans to display them in her Pop window again.
Her window gets a lot of attention from other little girls....we even see some camera flashes from inside our room.
I got her everyone on her list except 3 dolls that I couldn't find anywhere before Christmas, except on Ebay for a small fortune that I wasn't willing to pay.
A few days ago I found them 'back in stock' on Amazon so I snatched them up.
They won't arrive in time for this trip but I'm sure they will go in May.

Considering we are at 7 degrees F right now ..... 60-70 degrees looks mighty awesome!

I will put up some pics while I'm there for you .... any requests?
It's hard to come up with something you havn't taken a great pic of already.
Maybe the 2013 merchandise? or maybe the Limited Time Magic - “Bling in the New Year” dance party.
I'm excited to see what cool things they do every week.
We should get to see something new each time one of us goes this year.

I better get going on my day...I think the New Year has to start with Mickey waffles and bacon!

Thank you for all the fantastic pics this morning!!! I would love to have the Beach Club & Grand Floridian art pieces to add to my collection.

Drew said it was crazy up there! He went to ride some bike parks up there, but I don't know if he even took his camera. I think the Times Square idea came after they were up that way and figured they were so close they should just do it.

There was a Monster High decorated window at Pop in October. I am pretty sure I took a picture of it.

Picture requests? I'll take anything, of course! :thumbsup2 I always like to see the main display right as you walk into Everything Pop. I'm sure it will have all of the new 2013 merchandise on it. Anything that makes me feel warm... :cool2:

Those resort pictures are cool, aren't they? :)

I just could buy up the whole pin store if I had the time and money. Seriously! I will take the Fantasmic pin, the Merida pin, the Mr. Toad pin... Yeah never leave me in there with a million dollars it would be gone. And I am instantly regretting not going to Once Upon A Toy on my last trip, it looks so cool in there and I just love those little Disney details! Ahhhh, WHEN CAN I GO BACK?!?!?!?!?!

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

I have become a pin fan in the past few years. I usually get maybe 1-3 per trip, on average.

That pretty much describes me! LOL!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I remembered! I look forward to your updates on your report, too. :thumbsup2

I love a shopping trip to Once Upon a Toy! Fun! :cool1:

Happy New Year everyone!!

It's a fun store to look at, even if you don't buy anything.

Happy New Year! Hannah and I enjoyed the shopping trip this morning! She was busy showing me everything she wants to buy next time we go.....which was about every stuffed animal or princess in the pictures.

It's fun and safe to shop in these pictures. You can enjoy all of your 'purchases', but you never end up at the counter pulling our your billfold. :goodvibes

This is why I so appreciate DIS friends! Charles is so good about putting up with my obsession but doesn't understand it. That's what the DIS is for!

I've never actually been in Once Upon a Toy. I feel like my dad would really enjoy it if he ever came to DTD with us, though!

Your dad would probably like that store. He could make a sword, play with remote control toys, check out video games... Much fun to be had by kids at heart! ::yes::

I really enjoy all of your shopping photos. It is as if we are browsing right along with you. So much fun.

Happy New Year to you and your beautiful family. May your year be filled with many more blessings.

And it is safe to shop like this. :goodvibes You feel like you have had a big shopping spree, but you haven't spent a dime.

Love the shopping pics!
Happy New Year! (officially now that it's 2013)

That contemporary resort made it's way to our house this Christmas. DH was very surprised! I found it was on sale and ordered it to go with the monorail that runs around the base of our Disney Christmas tree!

I think we need to collect the whole set of park icons and resorts. I have no idea what I would do with them, but it would still be fun. The girls have the Hollywood hat, compliments of Marc and Anita. They found it on sale, too.

pixiedust: Happy New Year!!! Hopefully it will be a very Disney year!pixiedust:

It would probably be more Disneyish if we lived as close as you do. :) Hope you guys can come up to Vero in June for that pirate meal. Be sure to get in touch with Anita about that. I don't know how far out we have to make reservations for that one. You guys can discuss.

Happy New Year!
What a great start to the day, wandering DTD and window shopping. :thumbsup2 I'm looking forward to trips with my DGD. :goodvibes

What fun you will have following her around the stores. :lovestruc

Just catching up.....enjoying it all as always!

GREAT picture! :thumbsup2

Oh my goodness, those pictures of Brooklynn leading the Pledge of Allegiance and the flag ceremony were awesome. Thanks for sharing! I'm sure that was such a great moment!

I am glad she got to do that. It's kind of funny to think that she is in the pictures of anyone who took some of that event that day, too.

Glad you got to stop by for a minute. I have enjoyed seeing Seth pictures and videos during the holiday break.

Loving the look back. We are now in Geogia on the way back to CT... only 20 hours to go! Had a wonderful time with the band.. actually had some of the most amazing days. The crowds were crazy, but we got it all in. Brendan set up camp in Canada at 4 and we had the perfect spot for double illuminations!

Thanks to Anita and Marc for coming to meet me at a time of the day when they would normaly not be there- it was great talking to you. Also, thanks for coming to see the band march thru Epcot, I'm glad you enjoyed it... and, yes, they were treated better than at universal and received nice gifts!!

Happy New Year all, blessing and good health in 2013!!~Cynthia

What a cool experience for the band! What kind of gifts did they get?

So glad you got to meet up with Marc and Anita.

Disney archives called...they want your Disney photos of everything!!!!!! Lol

Happy New Year....back to work tomorrow :(

I may have some sort of record for merchandise and 'odd things' pictures.

I love the themeing in Once Upon a Toy!! Even the "Cast Members Only" sign is adorable! :goodvibes

I thought the same thing - themed details everywhere.
I am disappointed that the game/toy tree in DTD got replaced by a regular tree. That fit in so well with the store.

Your Once Upon a Toy pictures are great! That is such a fun store. I love that they have lots of stuff out for the kids to play with while shopping! :thumbsup2

True. It's a fun place to let the kids play, 'legally', even if you don't buy anything. :thumbsup2

*******************************************

Thanks to Happydog, we have some pictures of our walk off of Splash Mountain. We had stalled, and they told us that Brer Bear and Brer Rabbit were causing trouble downstream. After a long stall, they gave up on moving us on via the logs and said castmembers would be around to assist us off the ride.

Happy New Year MeMom & Jill - it's been a while since I've been on the Dis due to a horrible surgery that led to a horrible infection that knocked me out of commission for months (literally still out of work-- but on the flip side being so sick I've lost over 25lbs and now wearing a size 2 -but not a good way to lose that much weight.) I've been reading your TR for the past couple of weeks and just caught up! Looking forward to your Oct. TR too!

I always enjoy your shopping pictures.

Love the SM photos! I would jump on the chance to take pictures with the characters in there. I think I saw another Memom pictures during the parade.

Thanks for another guilt-free, wallet-free shopping excursion, MeMom! Even though we brought home piles of stuff for Christmas, I can never get enough of WDW shopping.
And those Splash Mtn walk-off pics were a treat. What a unique & fun adventure!
In church on New Year's Day, I saw a family we ran into several times this last trip. The little girl was trying to place who I was - until I wished her a happy Mickey New Year! And may we all enjoy a happy, healthy, Mickey-ful 2013!!! :goodvibes

So sorry to hear about all of this! We miss all of our DIS friends when they 'disappear' from our midst, and we wonder where they have gone - just busy with real life (especially little ones), new jobs, just sick of reading about our adventures, and sometimes, illnesses. We love when they return for a visit, and we certainly are glad to hear when those who have been through trials are doing better. :thumbsup2 Thanks for letting us know about your troubles. We hope every day finds you feeling better and being more back to a normal life. ::yes::

Pictures were taken before the castmembers came by and told everyone to put cameras away. We walked along the edge of the displays through a wet walkway and then down some steps to get out. I am glad we got to do it, just because for Disney geeks, something like that is cool.

What all did you get? We love to see what people bring home! :woohoo:

It is fun to see people from real life in Disney World.

We agree so much - we hope this is a happy, healthy new year filled with Disney fun!

Next, we checked out Team Mickey. This is where I sometimes can find t-shorts for Trent and Drew that they will wear, like Nike, Adidas, etc., since they do not want anything with Mickey on it.

That's all of our shopping for today. Next time, we'll explore more of Old Key West.

Those boys were thoroughly enjoying their chance to pose with Brer Rabbit. :lmao:

We have a Snow Kitty at our house, too. I wonder at what age I should pack up Connor's stuffed animals? (He may or may not still sleep with Baseball Bear and Pirate Mickey.)

I am super excited about the photo tour of OKW -- I want to rent points and stay there on the next trip!

We have stayed at Old Key West and it is beautiful! I loved the feel of the whole resort. :goodvibes

Disney boat rides are the best! I did have the buy toothpaste on our last trip and you definitely are paying for more than the toothpaste if you know what I mean. Mine was fancy Polynesian Resort toothpaste! Ooolala. I want that flatware! :thumbsup2

Since we just had our first stay at OKW (as OWNERS!!), I LOVED those pictures! I saw a lot of things that I almost bought too! Kind of wishing I'd have gotten something like a mug that said OKW, but maybe next time!

We really liked the relaxed feel of the resort and the 1BR was FABulous! Wished I was staying there more nights.

Thanks Happydog for the pictures from in Splash. I have yet to ride, so now I at least know what some of it looks like.

I'm two days late, but Happy New Year! :goodvibes

We just got our ME stuff! I was getting nervous since it was so last minute, but now we're all set :thumbsup2 We're under 48 hours now! I still can't believe we're actually leaving on Saturday. We went from "we might not go until May" to "we leave in two weeks" really fast  I don't think it's gonna sink in until we land in Orlando.

The weather looks good up here and down there! Still a 0% chance of precipitation Saturday. And it looks like it's gonna be too warm for snow while we're gone, which is good. We don't want to have to worry about our pet sitter not being able to get here, or worry about my grandma being home alone in a snowstorm while we're out of town.

Now I'm gonna go clear some space on my camera and my phone, and start packing :yay:

Happy new year everyone!:goodvibes

OKW looks so chilled out and relaxing. I've only been there on ME waiting to go to my resort but I should take some time out and go explore it sometime! Since 2013 doesn't look to hold a trip for me, I think an extra-long trip in 2014 would be the perfect time! ;). And as always, I love the virtual shopping!:thumbsup2

They were having a blast!

I think I'd just let Connor be in charge of his own 'breaking up' with his furry friends. ::yes:: It could be dangerous to do it any other way!

More OKW pictures coming in the next few days.

I do, too. It has just the right mix of the relaxed feel and vibrant feel.

It is fun to ride Disney boats, since we don't very often travel by boat in normal life.

An extra long trip in 2014 - of course you should!!!:cool1:

I really do want to go on Splash - my kids are nervous about that "Big" drop! I'd prefer not to get soaked, so I may go in with a poncho.

So are you going to tell us the reason for your visit to OKW? Was it just to explore more resorts?

Wait, did you say you lived in Florida?

Wait, did you say you lived in Florida?

That drop is so fun! Sometimes you get plenty wet, and sometimes not too much at all. I have been known to wear a poncho, or at least hold one over my hair and my bag. ;)

We went to take pictures, shop, explore, eat, and do a craft, which you will see. I enjoy resort hopping, so just walking around is fun for me.

Yes, I lived in Florida for about 4 years when I was a young teenager. My dad was in the Air Force and was stationed at MacDill, in St. Pete. We had an awesome church there, and it is where I became a Christian, so it is very special to me. I had a cousin who went to college in Miami, and we traveled to see her there. We also went to St. Augustine, another base up in the Panhandle, beaches on the Atlantic Coast, U of F in Gainesville, etc. Lots of fun! I think that's why I am so fond of palm trees - because they bring back so many good memories.

Very cool. My DH lived in FL for a few years around middle school age, but he was on the Atlantic side, near W. Palm Beach. He says he didn't love living there, but sure enjoys vacationing there!!

I remember a couple trips back (March 2011 I think) we visited OKW and checked out the shop and pool areas. That was before we bought DVC points there! I like to visit the resorts too - sometimes to eat, shop, just wander around...Someday I'd like to stay at all of them too!!

My time was about the last half of 5th grade to the first half of 9th. it was traumatic for me to move at that age. I was so mad and sad about leaving.

Jill and I have that as a goal, too, to stay at each resort for at least one night. She's done a couple more than I have, since she went to POR and CBR on honeymoon and anniversary trips. We have also stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge, Saratoga Springs, POFQ, and all the values.

We have a Snow Kitty at our house, too. I wonder at what age I should pack up Connor's stuffed animals? (He may or may not still sleep with Baseball Bear and Pirate Mickey.)

Um I have an 18 year old boy who might still have stuffed animals in his room.
Have not looked to see if he is still sleeping with him but last I looked one was on the bed and a couple in the bookshelf.

When he is ready he will pack them up. ::yes::
