I Don't Know, I Don't Speak Wind!!

I love your version of heaven, MeMom and I think Tracy is there living it up and keeping it warm for us. Probably sharing a few ideas with Walt too. ;)

She really did love Disney and our crazy Disney community so very much and was overwhelmed by the love & support shown throughout her illness.

I just mentioned on another thread that I think the best way to remember her is to raise a glass to her the next time you are in the World (be it soda, water or alcoholic) and cherish all of the special memories that come out of any trip to our happy place.

Most of all, she would want all of us to keep believing in the magic. pixiedust:

I don't think I knew Tracy, but will say a prayer for her family and friends. Sounds like she brought joy to many people!

I have been obsessively reading this trip report while my students are taking their final exams after I discovered and read MeMom's Christmas/New Years TR from last year. I have learned that the DIS terminology for one who reads and does not post is a "lurker." So this is my official post to change from lurker to...well...I'm not sure what I am to be called now...

I just wanted to say that I think everyone in these threads are WONDERFUL! I have never read anything on the web that demonstrates such trust, friendship, kindness, and MAGIC! This is such a close community that I am so glad that I have stumbled upon. DIStown is such an enjoyable place to read about!

We are leaving for WDW in 10 days and I was originally just looking for some tips about spending time in Disney when it is very crowded. What I have found has not only helped me with planning our trip, but also has introduced me to a fabulous group of people that I will continue to read along with as much as possible! :wave2:

BTW - I was looking in every one of MeMom's pictures for an accidental sighting of myself, as I was in WDW at the same time in June. Sadly, I wasn't there, but you never know! It could happen...

I would also like to take the opportunity to offer my condolences to those who knew and were close to Tracy. My thoughts and prayers are with those close to her during this difficult time.

Thanks again for a lovely trip report. I can't wait to continue reading!

Sorry to hear of Tracy's passing. I will keep her family and DIS friends in my thoughts and prayers.:grouphug:

Thanks, girls. She went by manntra here on the DIS. She had a very positive and determined attitufe as she fought het cancer battle.

I think Jill's heaven will be a lot like mine, except she will also have a huge scrapbooking room. Trent will have a workout room beyond belief, and Drew will have the most awesome bike park, ramps, etc. ever made.

Our DIS family is very much a happy part of our lives, as well. I am glad we were able to encourage and support her through her tough times.

Several years ago, Trent told me he would never be able to go to Disney World again after I die. I told him he had to do just the opposite - go, enjoy, and know that I am watching and laughing and having a blast right along with him! ::yes::

Wouldn't that have been cool if you had seen yourself in one of our pictures?!?!? :cheer2:

As the UnMagical Express whisked our people away,

IMG_1873.jpg

Brooklynn and I headed off to the bus stop.

Can't describe how much sadness and guilt I felt at that moment. :sad1:

Yet, I was going to have my sweet Brooklynn all to myself for a few days, and she was going to bask in being spoiled rotten. ;)

All to myself most of the time, that is. Miss Anita Wigd and Mr. Marc also took her off to do some spoiling during those days, as well.

So, to which park did we go?

You have to guess by the next picture.

IMG_1874.jpg

What? You don't know every flower in Disney World by now?

Slacker!

Maybe this will help.

IMG_1875.jpg

Here was the deal - this was my last day in the parks. My AP expired. Brooklynn's expired the next day. She would choose the parks for our last day together, and then she was going to go with Marc and Anita the next day wherever they went and use her last day with them.

I am betting you guessed Brooklynn would have chosen Animal Kingdom for our last hurrah, but she chose Epcot.

We walked around Mouse Gear.

I was really enjoying being with this little girl by herself, letting her take the lead, and just capturing it all with my camera.

DIStown citizen - I like it! Can I work at the DIS High School and the DIS Dance Studio?! :cool1:

Seriously, I looked at EVERY picture that had strangers in it just to see if I had made a cameo! Fate is a funny thing sometimes, so I was determined. It will happen someday!

Last day of school for me before I am off for two weeks!! Do the rest of you that teach get a nice, long winter break?

You can have that high school position, and I am pretty sure Bella will be thrilled with having a dance studio in town! :dance3:

I go back on January 7th. The first part of my time off will be filled with cleaning, playing, and traveling, and the last part will be for a little more detailed cleaning and then plenty of hanging out and doing nothing time before we plunge back into school things at full speed.

Just across from Mouse Gear, there is this little soda shop...

IMG_1900.jpg

She tried the watermelon from China and a couple more, but no Beverly.

Kim Possible, as you know, gave way to Agent P.

That is it for now.
Back to the cleaning.

Enjoying your trek around Epcot...we enjoy where's the fire and the boys finally did sum of all thrills this past trip. Justin's goal is always to get it as close to the edge as humanly possible

Can you believe I was able to sneak on at work :ssst: ?????????? Who knew??? Most stuff is blocked!

I have so much catching up to do but in less than an hour I will have 11 days off!!! :cheer2:

Sending thoughts and prayers to Tracy's family...I love what you wrote about heaven. I feel like God gives you snipets of extreme happiness and contentment (such as we feel at Disney) to give you a sneak peak at what it will be like in heaven. I am so happy we will all be together :flower3: forever!!!

OK off to read about your adventures!!! pixiedust:

I would imagine Brooklynn was doing what every kid would love to do. Be the boss at Disney. Go where you want to go and do what you want to do instead of being rushed around. Another lesson in stopping and smelling the roses.

I liked your description of heaven too. I would want a scrapbook room too. I have one now, it use to be Brent's room.

Danielle doesn't get out of school until 2:25. There were suppose to go half days Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and then have Thursday and Friday off. But instead we're making up time missed during Issac. I think they are just going to play around today. The teachers are going to play the kids and volleyball. Danielle and the other cheerleaders will perform at half time their routine from competition earlier this month.

Absolutely! It will be so hard for any of us to go back without those who have helped make it magical for us but I agree we have to do it. The memories are priceless and I love the thought of people watching from above and enjoying alongside us. :goodvibes

Good choice in EPCOT, Brooklyn! That would have been my choice as well. Looks like you maximized that last day. I love all of that colorful Mexican pottery too. So pretty!

Hello MeMom and company! Sorry I haven't commented on this TR in forever. School is totally KILLING me this year. Ugh! I'm so glad that I only have so much of this year left then next year and I'm off to college! WOOT! Anyways, I hope all is well! Loving the latest photos I'm seeing, missed the shopping photographic tours lol I really need to start making notes now, I'm procrastinating too much haha So excited to read about what's next in store for this trip! :mickeyjum

Hi! :wave2: I have a lot of catching up to do but I wanted to pop in and share my exciting news. We booked a very last minute Disney trip today! We leave two weeks from tomorrow  Jan 5-11, staying at WL! The reason it's so last minute is because of my mom's work schedule. She was waiting to get the dates for a couple meetings she has to go to. Now I have a lot of planning to do, but I finished the semester on Monday so I have time :thumbsup2 I'm so excited! The Osborne lights are up through the 6th, so I finally get to see them for the first time :yay:

We were looking at Sum of All Thrills, but the wait was kind of long. I asked Brooklynn if she wanted to wait, and not knowing really what it was, she said no. We'll get to it eventually. At first, I didn't think I could do it because they close you in, but I believe the sides are open, so I think I could do it.

I agree. Being at Disney World with my family is my heaven on earth. My human-ness can relate to that, so I just take that and multiply it, imagining what God can do, and that makes it something to look forward to!

Enjoy your time off! I have already made much use of today. I got some cleaning done, and my den is looking very much like it's under the sea. :thumbsup2

I just put this on the board for my students and they were able to answer it within a few minutes :thumbsup2 I train them correctly, huh??? :teacher:

Yay for fhe fun teacher!!! Don't you wish you could take your students to Epcot as a group? My students would flip out!

At one point during the October trip, I sent Jill a picture of the back of Brooklynn as she was picking up her about 56th flower petal off the ground. It said, 'Exploring Epcot, one petal at a time.' :goodvibes

Heaven will have a big scrapbooking club! :thumbsup2
When I get rid of Drew - :rolleyes1 if that ever happens - his room is going to be a big storage room. It is very small, but since this is an old house with very little closet space, it will make for a great place to store our party stuff and school stuff. ::yes::

I know that feeling.... I need to get back to mine too.

Did you get anything done? I got clothes washed, dishes washed, tub scrubbed, and back room straightened up so Jill can have a bed tomorrow night. :)

Absolutely! It will be so hard for any of us to go back without those who have helped make it magical for us but I agree we have to do it. The memories are priceless and I love the thought of people watching from above and enjoying alongside us. :goodvibes

I think things like the pottery and other items in World SHowcase make especially good gifts for those back home who wouldn't so much appreciate a smack you in the face Mickey souvenir.

I picture Joan smiling all the time at her great grandsons and the things they do. I know the great beyond will be happy, so I never can picture anybody missing anyone over there, because that would be sad. Instead, they are just smiling, having their own big party, and waiting for us to join them.

I can't tell you how excited I am that we have our DIS high school and college kids home for the holidays! :wave2: So glad Timmy and Christine are away from school and are getting some DIS time. :cheer2:

And a college boy can make his own Disney trips, too! :cool1: You might have to split a room four ways with three buddies, but think how much fun you would have!

So glad to have you around for a few weeks before school captures you again.

I am glad it worked out with your mom's schedule. I know she deserves a break, too. Tell her hello from the WL porch gang!

I think I phrased that wrong. I have the rest of this SCHOOL year to finish up then another School year and I'm off to college. Yeah, that's better!

Oh. Well that's depressing! :headache:

Awww, thanks MeMom! I'm so excited to be back on here. It's been forever! I just have one crazy year this year. Junior year is so intense for a high schooler and I'm sure next year will be the same since I'm graduating in 2014 EEEEPPPP and if all goes well, I'm going to be on a Disney trip after I've put High School behind me and moved on to bigger better things! WOOHOO! :cool1:
