I Don't Know, I Don't Speak Wind!!

Silver lining of a rainy day...at least it allows time to catch up on the DIS!

Thanks for sharing the pics of AoA. It looks amazing!!! Especially The Cars section. Did you hear it was vandalized recently? :sad2: What is the matter with people???

Totally understand that desire to get out there and soak up Disney on your first night. Looks like fun!!!

Your classroom looks terrific!!!!!!!!

Your classroom is AWESOME! Summer is closing fast. My kiddos start back on August 6th. I am always sad to see summer end but I am always glad to have the routine. I am like a two year old. I function better on a daily schedule.

I love your classroom decorations!! You are always so clever with your Disney decor!

The King cupcake looks awesome! Did you try it during your stay?

I always forget about the Animation area in DHS - next trip we HAVE to go!

Not clever. I steal ideas. ;)

We did get one King Cupcake, and we shared it between four of us. Bella wanted nothing to do with it.

OK, I was all over that cupcake until I read about the bacon, now I'm not so sure. I've always said everything tastes better with bacon, but I'm not sure that extends to desserts ;)

Your classroom looks great! You and Anita always put so much thought into your rooms!

I love looking at Disney art, I wish I had unlimited funds so that I could bring it all home with me :thumbsup2

You should try the drawing class sometime, I don't have much artistic ability either and I'm always surprised that you can actually tell what it is that I drew! :lmao: The animator does a really great job of breaking down the steps for you. If Brooklynn is a perfectionist though, she might get a little frustrated, no erasers.....

Yeah, I could have done without the bacon, but there really wasn't much on there, anyway, so it was okay.

No erasers would probably frustrate me, and I am not a perfectionist. Might have to sneak an eraser in for Brook. ;)

I finally made it over here!! Now I have to get caught up.

Glad to see that we are getting our whole town back. :thumbsup2

YAY DHS! I'm so sad they moved the Fantasia topiary display from near the Brown Derby to out front, though I'm sure it looks just as nice, it felt more picturesque by the Brown Derby. I wonder what's there now though... hmmm...

Love the Art of Disney stores, they have some beautiful Disney pieces! I could totally go for any of the Retro Disney items, especially the Country Bear statuette and the Tropical Serenade poster! Very cool.

Got to make a note of the Magic of Disney Animation place. I've always wanted to do the drawing class. And I totally agree about the triplets, they were the best part of that whole movie, but, of course, they have little part in it. :/

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

The display looks really nice out front. There is nothing in that patch of grass by Brown Derby, or at least there wasn't when we were there.

Whenever you do a drawing, you'll have to come and show off your art work. :)

All caught up. I would have wanted to go somewhere too on our first night there. I am always too excited to sleep when I am there.

I love your classroom. You always do such a great job decorating every year. I love seeing what you will do year to year.:goodvibes

Decorating the classroom is fun, but it takes a lot of time and money. I may keep Toy Story again next year. If not, I will 'tub it up' and do it again in a few years. I'd like to do a safari theme that I have done before, but after our Sea World trip, I have a feeling I will be in an oceany mood. We shall see!

I love your classroom. It is so cute! I know the kids will love it! Wish all the teachers were like you.:goodvibes

I like that the familiar decor puts kids at ease on the first day. They are nervous, and when they see the Disney stuff, they really do seem to smile and relax.

I've been a lurker on your trip reports, so I figure it's time to come out and show myself :rotfl:

I'm a teacher too, going into year 13 this year and I love seeing pictures of classrooms. Yours are great. I'm sure the kids enjoy it too.

Can't wait to read about the rest of your trip. Always so entertaining and your family looks like they're a lot of fun. :thumbsup2

Cathy

We love it when lurkers unlurk! :woohoo:

My family can be fun...and a little crazy. :crazy2: They come by it honestly. :wave2:

It's looking like rain is headed our way this evening, too.

I did hear about the vandalism. I think that is awful. I wonder if cameras caught anything?

I am like a school kid in fighting school starting back! :upsidedow

I was texting with Heather about you today. She said she was at a mall and someone called out to her and asked if she was a DISer. She said she didn't get the whole name, but it was something Mama, she thought. I tried to think of GA people, and asked her if it was by chance reelmom, but I guess it wasn't you.

To finish out the night, I browsed some shops.

I watched the movie of Walt's life. It is when I sat down that I realized it was time to call it a night. The need for sleep was winning over.

The music was still going strong on the stage.

I sure do love J, T, and D!

By the way, since no one braved guessing the Scrabble letters earlier, they were the first letter of each park - M, E, H, and A, and F for family. :)

That was it for that first night.

The next morning, Mickey and Minnie were discussing the prior night's escape.

June2012Part1213.jpg

I agreed with Minnie. The girls needed cereal bowls for their breakfasts and fruits, and Sophie needed her first official Disney World outfit. :goodvibes

We still have not done this, and I don't know when we will get to it, since it would be hard to do with little ones.

June2012Part1179.jpg

Go ahead and tag team this one! There's plenty for the little ones to do while one goes ahead and draws!

Very sweet! I'm sure the girls were excited to see their surprise and Sophie's too! :)

Love the classroom pictures, MeMom! You always do a cute job!

I hope you do the Animation Academy sometime! It's really fun.

Again, I loved the shopping pictures. I cannot wait to see this all in person SOON!

I :lovestruc One Man's Dream. I am especially fascinated by Walt's office...oh, to have been a fly on the wall!!

Love the surprises you got for the girls. :goodvibes.

I really like Disney's new retro stuff...very cool!

And I've been to Marceline. :) It's a happening spot....not! :lmao:

Jill in CO

I love wandering around One Man's Dream. It really is fascinating to learn about the history of all of the things we love so much!

Ohhhh now I get the Scrabble letters! :thumbsup2

Love One Man's Dream! No matter how many times I watch the movie, I still get teary eyed. Yep, I'm a sap like that ::yes::

You know, I've always thought about sneaking in an eraser to the animators class.
If I did, I would never be able to keep up. I think that's why they don't habe them. They move right along with the steps to draw your character. Just draw really light and then when you are happy go back over and darken in the lines.

Thanks for the pictures of DHS at night....love that place after dark! And I also love browsing the Disney art stores, as well. Something I probably won't be able to do until Seth is a little older and less rambunctious.

I NEED this for Ray!

I love "One Man's Dream" Exhibit. I have yet to watch the movie. In Feb I went in while DH and the girls were ridding RRC. I was trilled to run into Danielle and her classmates. I was so proud that the exhibit make such an impression on her that she brought her school group through. She ended up being the most experience person with the parks so she kind of led the other kids around when the teachers let them loose after their classes.

I love the surprises you brought back for all the girls.

Seems like a fun relaxing evening at DHS! I've never tried the animation academy either. I get big ideas but I'm not much of an artist.

I'm so excited to see the new Fantasyland model! Thanks for showing your photos! It looks soooo cool!:thumbsup2 And of course the shopping pictures were awesome! They were especially great for helping me avoid packing for Indiana on Tuesday! Procrastination at it's finest! ;)

Your classroom is very welcoming.:goodvibes You'll have to post new pics of Mr. Potatohead whenever he changes to his angry eyes  or a fun costume. pirate:

The King cupcake looks amazing & sounds intriguing. I'm not big on frosting, either, so it's interesting that you loved this frosting so much. We'll probably all split it, too. But we might have to split it top/bottom so I can skip the gooey filling and have all the yummy frosting!

I always do the Animation Studio, and DH almost always recognizes the character. DD usually joins me, & DH is thrilled to have downtime to sit down with a book and a glass of iced tea. I do prefer the paper-&-pencil version at DHS at to the electronic one at DTD. Brooklyn might like that she can erase on that one, but I have mixed feelings. I can get behind when I indulge my perfectionist tendencies and go back to erase.

The onesie for Sophie is awfully sweet. A perfect first Disney outfit!

Yes, I have to agree with Mickey and Minnie, too -- those purchases were necessary! :goodvibes

I think a DIS meet in Marceline would be fun. I looked it up once, and it looked like there were a couple of Disney things there.

I also love DHS at night.

Your purchases are very cute. Love the onsie & the bowls are adorable also. I wouldn't mind eating my cereal in that bowl.
