I dont know how to resize a photo

I have a photobucket account and uploaded some pics, I went and resized the photos in photobucket, but when I post them they are still vary large, I even selected down to the thumbnail size and they are still vary large.

Am i doing something wrong or how do you resize them if I have to do it on my computer how can I do that?

If you don't have a graphics program on your PC, I recommend Pixenate to resize your photos. It's not necessary to set up an account.
