I don't know how to do a trip report!

LOL, ok well I know how to write one, and I really want to, but I see them on here and I don't know how to do it the way people do! I see a thread with the name and then there are chapters and links and all this other craziness! I don't know how to do that! Can I just write a really long post? That seems like it would deter people from reading it, just a wall of text. Is there somewhere on here I can read about formatting a trip report. Geez, I think I am pretty knowledgable in general, I feel so silly for asking this!!!
