I made a few ADRs for the stay of our vacation in June, but I didn't schedule soemthing every single day. Now I'm reading that many restaurants at busy times like June won't even take walk-ins. Are we up the creek?

If you don't want to do alot of waiting for a table at your favorite resturants I would get on the phone with Disney dining and make the rest of your ADR's.

The look on some peoples faces when they come to a resturant and find that the wait can be up to 2 hours is not a pretty sight. Don't be one of those people. The DP has pretty much taken away the possibility of walk in dining.

Good luck on your ressies.:cheer2:

It all depends on the restaurant and time of year. We usually have pretty good luck on the walk-ups, unless it's like Le Cellier or something really popular like that. Lunches seem to be no problem recently. Dinners, well, we have encountered some resistance at Epcot if we wait till the last minute to book. You know you're in trouble when you call to make a priority seating two days prior to visiting and Nine Dragons is sold out! :confused3

I would, as MOMOF2 suggests, get on the horn. Ressies are free, except for Cali Grill, etc. Disney LOVES making as many priority seatings as they can, so go for it. You can always cancel.

I guess I am in the same boat as the OP. I have about 75% of my ADR's reserved for our 10 day trip, but with having 8 people in our group, noone could make up their mind as to what park we would be at on several days, so we may just have to wing it. Best I could do when your traveling with a group of high school age girl scouts:goodvibes

You can always call and make an ADR the same day once you know how your day is going. We did this a couple of times over Spring Break( a very crowded time). It was no problem. They may not have the exact time you are looking for but at least you know when to be there and do not have to waste time waiting for a table.

We went last June, we couldn't get reservations anywhere. No walk ins, no calling in the morning to make them for later, nothing. The only place we were able to eat a sit down meal was Whispering Canyon....my sister in law made advance reservations there for everyone for her birthday, we didn't think of making reservations for everyday since every other time we had gone we were able to walk in or make them the same day. I hope you have better luck then we did, we ate a lot of hotdogs...lol

There's a lot of really good counter service places for flexibility. If you don't want to be tied down, it's a great option.

If on the DDP, I'd make ressies for at least one TS a day, because they do fill up.

We were just there from April28-May 5. No walk ups we accepted after 6:00 at CP, Coral Reef, 1900 , Akershus or Donald's (for breakfast). Sci Fi only had the saucers, no cars.I don't know about anywhere else. This was my observation

Last December when my family and I were in WDW we made 0 ADR's for all the days we were there and we did not go hungry. Some nights we went to the Rainforest Cafe at DTD with little or no wait, Earl of Sandwich, counter service locations at the Resorts and some off site restaurants. So you don't need ADR's everyday while in WDW. If your on the DDP it's a different story, however if your not on it, then your not forced to have every meal in a WDW restaurant that requires that you make an ADR.

We were just at DTD last week (regular season). The wait to order at Wolfgang puck Express was out the door and out to the walkway! We could not find a counter service in DTD that did not have a long wait (8:30pm) and could not walk in to a restaurant in the Marketplace area. We ended up taking a cab back to the hotel to eat because the line to get a bus was atleast 2 bus loads deep and one had just left. This was on a Wednesday night! I don't want to lead you to push the panic button yet. But, I noticed alot of people talking about when they were at Disney a year ago or TWO years ago. Things at Disney are changing. I was really surprised at the crowds and there are other threads here to attest to such. Disney's promotions depts are running over time to fill the parks and they are doing a great job. Better to be safe than sorry.

Last August when there was free dinning my family and I made two last minute lunch ADR's at the Plaza and 50's Prime Time Cafe. So despite everyone saying there are no last minute ADR's during free dinning that is not true.
