Is four and six to young for pin trading?

What is the deal with trading with CM's?

Why does everyone freak over ebay pins? If Disney allows it? Or is there actually some kind of Disney policy against trading pins that are not gotten directly through Disney or proven authentic??

Is there ever a place to get good deals on pins that are provably authentic?

I think 4 and 6 is a good age for pins. I have 2 year old twins and am purchasing them children's lanyards for their stockings. They will use these starter sets in April when they are 2 and a half. They love their sister's collection. She id 7 and has been really in to the pins since age five. She loves trading in the parks. usually picks a set she wants to work on during a trip and loves the hunt. We always buy one or two special pins per trip.

As for ebay, you can find a list of reputable sellers on this site. Just plug in a search for "good and bad ebay pin sellers." It a disappointment when you come across a 'scrapper' because they really are not as nice as Disney's pins. This same thread has pointers on how to spot a scrapper.

I purchase pins on ebay all the time from approved sellers. Don't buy big lots. I also only buy from the same two people all the time. they know I'm a good customer and I think that helps. Don't expect to pay a dollar a pin on ebay.

Have fun with it. It's a great way for your little ones to get used to talking with others and asserting some independence.

I think I might check Disney's website for a starter lanyard with some pins already on it. Maybe an extra pack of pins as well. Make it a Christmas gift and then they can trade pins when we go in Feb.
