I'm not sure I understand why trip reports are filled with pics of food and reviews of meals that are horribly expensive and not that good. What is the point?

There's lots of reasons, but are these your opinions of the food being overpriced and not good or is this what others are actually saying in the trip report?

I did a Disneyland TR where I posted every meal I ate to give other people ideas of what to try/not try and if it wasn't good, I gave reasons why, but I would never say the meal was overpriced. I believe I got what I paid for every time.

Some might like to document what they had and whether they liked it or not to plan for future trips. Such as would I want to go back and if so what would I try instead.

Others may just want to document their entire day start to finish including all meals in the process. I really don't think there's a wrong way to do a trip report since it's your own experience. If all they do as an author is complain, I wouldn't follow along.

Are you saying you find the food to be overpriced and not that good? Or that the trip reporters are saying the food is overpriced and not that good?

I'm not sure I've seen many that are the latter. Some TRers may say they didn't like a specific item, but rarely are they overwhelmingly negative.

Food is so important at Disney. It makes sense that food reporting would be a big part of TRs.
