I don't get it (literally)

I don't get it - I got nuthin. No emails...no pony express mailings...nuthin'!!! Nuthin' on BLT...nuthin' on THV. DVC has dropped the ball IMO. Why are some members getting emails and even MAILINGS about BLT and the rest of us get squat??

OK, now, so how is it that we are so SURE that THV is going to be part of SSR and that we can book it at 11 months if we own at SSR?? Says who if they haven't sent anything out yet?? Do we think they will be ready for occupancy by the time the "Dream" season starts next August and if so, when will booking open??

The one drawback for us is that I am not in love with the bunk bed idea in that one bedroom...like if we go with other adults like my parents and my brother and his girlfriend, that's really more of a kid thing and I don't see my parents tossing a coin to see who gets the top bunk! They should split those units 50/50 with a room that has a regular double bed or 2 twins or something and offer a booking preference.

But so who can explain why some members get priorty notice and the rest of us like don't count or something??

Maybe they don't have your correct email address? Or maybe your junk mail. Most people only received an email...mailing are just starting to hit, so probably too soon for that up in this area.

It is on the member website and as for the bunks in the THV's, I think that is more of a space issue than anything else. The rooms seemed pretty crammed when they were putting a queen in each room, so they probably made one larger and one smaller.

Part of the official announcement puts it as an addiitonal phase of SSR, so all SSR owners would have 11 month advanatage. Similar to if you look at your contract you own a portion of a room at a certain building in a certain phase, but have home resort advantage everywhere in that resort.

I didn't get an email either and both of us are registered. We get other emails from DVC, but nothing on this yet. However, my guide called me on Thursday to make sure I had heard the news (I have a great guide). Just a note, she was calling because this weekend is the member's cruise and she and other guides are on the cruise. She thought the timing was bad since the sale starts on Sunday and that is when the cruise is departing. She was making an effort to call her existing members who have expressed interest in the Contemporary in the past. She said she would call her other members when she returned and was only calling the ones who have inquired over the years and she noted it in her files.

No email or snail mail on either BLT or THV here, either...also no call from my guide (who's flat-out terrific)...so if it weren't for DISBoards, I wouldn't know about either BLT or THV...

I'm excited by both...but already have a substantial number of SSR points (and loved having SSR as our home resort even before the THVs became the subject of rumors!). And think I'd only jump at an add-on for BLT if I got 2009 points (Feb UY) in so doing--and that's not looking likely.

We'll probably book a THV stay as soon as booking windows open up...but BLT will wait til I get my THV "fix" in...

I would like to see the marketing materials, tho...hope they come in the mail soon...

We received the email from Dee Vee See about BLT. Was there another email? We have not received any mailings, but our guide said he had sent something out when I spoke to him on Tuesday... maybe it is just taking a while to get here?

DW got the BLT snail mail yesterday and I got it today. We have 3 contracts. When we had one contract we would only get one mailing. I got the email with the link for the crappy video on you tube. They were calling it the Treehouse Villas at SSR. I hope that means SSR owners get the 11 month window. Time will tell. DVC seems more interested in selling the BLT units right now. I have not heard when the THV points go on sale.

I think the announcement was pretty clear that THV is a new phase of SSR, not a separate resort.

I don't get any of the emails and I asked my guide about it. He said they come from marketing and gave me a phone number to call and get on the list. The only issue he said might be causing the no contact is that my number is noted as being on the nation do not call registry which rolls over into how they do their marketing.

Anyway if you want the name and phone number to call and contact just PM me. He said you just ask for the person and will probably have to leave a v-mail with your info.

It was only announced last Tuesday, I'm sure they will getting information out in the mail to all members.

When AKV was rolled out, the information was very poor also.

THV is part of SSR, as a SSR owner you will get the 11 month window advantage. I am really looking forward to getting more information on the resort too.

I have never gotten an email once, not for any announcement or promotion. No mailings, no calls from guides. Like Annie, nuttin! Now, I did not buy from a guide, bought resale. Wonder if that has something to do with it. I did get an email back when I emailed DVC about keeping the stuff in the studios. But other than that, like Annie, nuttin.

I don't visit the member website all that often. I should not have to go there to find out what's new. As an owner, I should receive the same marketing information at the same time as other owners. IMO, they should not stagger out the emails and mailings. It should be all or nothing.

As far as I'm concerned, until they SEND ME this announcement, either by email or USPS, then there has been no official announcement.

I was just wondering if they're labeling it differently, specifically as THV at SSR or something if that would mean that you really do need to do an add-on there. Like, here, where we live, the builder got sneaky and split the community up into 3 different phases and named each phase something different. So for one thing, we're all in separate HOA's and for another, it got them around the county requirement of having to build us a community pool and community center that is required once the development reaches a certain size. If they had done it all as one community they would've had to also build us more ammenities. So I'm just lookin' at loopholes they may try to enforce so that THV can only be booked at 11 months if you purchase there. Until they release something official to us, IMO, until I receive a communication from DVC spelling it all out the booking window is speculation.

I have not received an announcement (e-mail or snail mail) of any kind either. I was at Old Key West when the announcement was made. I am disappointed that I didn't get a call to come over and see the model rooms. On Thursday I went over to look at the AKV model rooms and no one said a word about BLT or THV or anything else.

I have given them my e-mail address and also entered it online.
