Why are so many DISers willing to give BS a pass, but not other parents? :confused3

I can't count the number of threads I've read here about bad parents.
?

Yeah - but I dont just give BS a pass, I give 'em all a pass. I pretty much avoid the "Wait til you hear what *this* parent did" threads.

Cuz I'd be lying if I posted "OH GOODNESS! I cant believe THAT" cuuuuz - I'm spanked my kids, yelled at them in public, threatened to leave them (wherever we were) in addition to the long list I posted of ashamed moments.

It just seems like the things people are bringing to others attention about BS - is kinda "stupid, unexperienced Mom" things. She probably feels like an idiot now.... but live and learn, y'know?

I don't get the poor little country Britney act. She's not some country bumpkin. She's been in the business a long time - enough to eradicate any sweet country girl innocence and the Kellie Pickler act just isn't flying.

I think she'd get a helluva lot more respect if she just owned up to making a mistake and daring people who haven't with their first child instead of coming up with lame brained excuses

I agree. It's not that she makes the mistakes; it's that she comes up with odd excuses.

Amen! I call what she's doing the utmost in immaturity. Owning up to making a mistake is the first sign of growing up. I know it took me YEARS before I admitted to any mistakes, but then again I wasn't in charge of other lives then. I was too young, too stupid and too irresponsible to be in charge of a dog much less a child. I agree we shouldn't be harping on her but defending her???

My youngest nephew was 18 when my only son was born. I saw MAJOR mistakes my sisters made with their children when I finally had mine. I made NO excuses for their stupidity because they have to live with it. I, on the other hand, have learned from them.

Did I make mistakes, sure, I have blood in my veins, don't I? But we all have to understand that children are not our experiments and playthings. WE have to be the examples that help them to grow.

Sorry, I'm OLD school. I have a niece and several cousins that are JUST LIKE Mrs. Federline and I've dealt with YEARS of their dumb mistakes. Right now my patience with young and dumb is GONE.

B. Spears loves the press and if there's one thing a "celebrity" dreads, it's the lack of publicity. You can't have it both ways - they are not just going to snap pictures of you when you want them to. I think her 15 minutes are just about up.
