i just thought I would warn others who post links to pictures, Someone decided to put captions on some pics I I had on ofoto!
They were not vulgar just a little rude. I guess I will no longer feel safe to post pics here I find it sad.

I didnt think anyone else could either!! THat is why it kind of freaks me out! I had posted a link to pics of the Yacht lounge and I thought ofoto was a secure site, so I do not know how the person did it that is what freaksme out.

I would also suggest you report this to a moderator. People should feel safe about posting their pictures.

Who should I report this too?? Ofoto?? I do not think a moderator here can help me. I just posted a link to some pics (Which I have since deleted a little too late) and so they could go to ofoto and look at the pics. I jut dont know how they put captions on the pics!! Anyone else use ofoto and know how this was done?? I thought only the person whos pics they are could do the editing???

Sorry this has happened to you. That's a risk we all take when we post photos on the internet...any troll can come along and alter them.

It happened back in July 2002, someone went through the "Show Your Face" thread that is at the top of the CB and decided to post several DISers photos within a thread on their troll site.

Anyone can put comments on your pictures at OFOTO. My realatives do it all the time. USUALLY they have nice things to say about me.

I do remember some sites allowing viewers to post comments. Comments are different than captions. Unfortunately, the comments are allowed. It's pretty sad that rude ones most likely came from a Diser.

If you're uploading your digital photos, www.pbase.com is a good site to use. But, if you're using film and having them put online, then that site won't work.

Ofoto is a site where you can upload your pictures, and other people can come and look at them by logging in to the site. Shutterfly is a similar site; there are others but I can't recall the names right now.

Ofoto has a guestbook so can't you see who looked at the photos and determine that way who posted the rude captions?

I am sorry someone did that to your pictures. I can imagine that you would feel upset. Please try to realize that the vast majority of people would never do such a thing, and appreciate you sharing your photos.

Hopefully that will be your only experience like that. We just can't let a few bad apples spoil it for everyone.

I think I may of figured out How it was done. Make sure you sign out of your own ofoto book before you put a link on it . the only thing I can figure is I didnt sign out before closing the page and it gave whoever loooked at the pics a chance to mess with my pic.
Of coarse everyone except one was recpectful to my pics.
Yes there is a guestbook but not everyone has to sign it.
