I do just want to comment on the CM's from my last trip

I was just there from 2/7-2/12 and I have to say that even though the crowds were high (they always are now) the cast members I encountered were all very friendly, efficient and really took the time to talk about my day, my plans, and my general enjoyment of my vacation. I must say it really does add a little something to the experience and the pleasant cast members this time really stood out! That's the Disney I know!

Email them, recognizition on here means all of nothing.

Recognition on here means nothing to the CMs, but it is so refreshing to see positive comments when so many comments on here are negative.

I agree to let guest services know! But sharing on here is really nice because lots of people are more inclined to share negative feedback on here than positive.

I agree, we have had great cm experiences on our last few trips!

I try to make a point to tweet to @wdwtoday, with the hashtag #castcompliment, mentioning the first name of the cast member, the location and general time, and why the CM made me smile. I always get a quick reply, and within a couple days, another reply with a photo of the cast member holding a "Thank You" sign! So I know they are recognized.

Oh yeah def it’s great to hear it on here I just always want them to be rewarded for their hardwork too!

I can't recall ever having a negative CM interaction, but I work in the travel industry, and have a good idea of what they have to deal with on a daily basis. I usually go out of my way to be especially kind and polite to CM's even if I'm in a situation I have an issue with. 99.9% of the time the issue has nothing to do with the CM I am discussing it with anyway - so no point in treating them badly. I agree that it's always a good idea to recognize the CM's whenever they do something that really makes your day. It's always nice to be appreciated for your hard work!

I've said it on here dozens of times, CMs are what make WDW pixiedust: in my opinion. Without them, I'd probably still like WDW, but nowhere near as much as I do. With a cast as large as WDW CMs, I'm sure there's a rude one somewhere, and even good ones can have a bad day sometimes (we all do), but 99.99% of the time they are the very minimum courteous and helpful. I can't tell you how many times I have witnessed them go above and beyond, or even simply waive hello in a genuinely friendly manner. We've had the privilege of getting to know one of them over the past 8 years and she has become a family friend. We think the world of CMs and admire what they do.

I always have good interactions with CM's but I forget to write their name down in the moment, and of course, I forget it by that night b/c I've spoken to so many people that day. I'm going to TRY and remember to take a picture of the CM so I can remember their name this trip for Easter if I get one that I'd like recognized. I'm the person who has to be reminded to take pictures of things or asked to get in a photo also. I do use photopass quite liberally for this reason however. I usually have my phone put away in my pocket or wherever is convenient.

I honestly have never had a bad experience with a CM. Some aren't as bubbly or friendly as others (everyone's allowed an off day) but most are awesome!

I have had soooo many wonderful interactions with CMs on my trips. I always make it a point to type their name, location, time, position etc into my phone that way I don't forget in the instance I can't fill out a card before I leave. I have accidentally frightened a few when I took their name down until I assured them it is because I wanted to let WDW know they were fantastic. I feel like in general people are so quick to complain but not as quick to commend and in my personal experience at work, hearing that my clients feel positively about me makes me feel good and that I know they are appreciative of my work for them.

That is the initial reaction.
So true.

Yes I was totally oblivious to the fact that I most likely made them nervous and then my boyfriend happened to mention it so now I quietly type it in my phone haha! Once I realized it I felt absolutely awful I had probably made a very nice person nervous! I am sure what these CMs deal with (and probably everyone that works with the public) is not easy so I always like to make sure I write to Disney/fill out a card about them. I can truly say I cannot recall a poor CM experience personally - in fact when I have gotten suddenly ill, the CMs went above and beyond for me.

May I add a quick tweet to @WDWToday with the CM's name, location, date, and why he/she made a good impression is also a good way to make sure the hard work is noticed. Just add #CastCompliment. Sometimes, within a week, they will find the CM, hand them a printout of your tweet, and take their picture. You'll then be tagged in the post.

It's a great way to recognize someone and you actually know that compliment gets back to them! I usually use it for CMs who go above and beyond. I think it's especially nice to use it on those CMs who rarely get compliments - think bus drivers, custodial staff, etc.

It says a lot that CMs are still interacting well with guests despite the protracted contract negotiations with Disney (which are not going very well). Kudos to them for not taking it out on guests.

YES!! We were there around the same time period and the CMs were super. So many of them were so wonderful and they made our trip extra special. Really thought they went above and beyond. We had numerous outstanding experiences with them. The CMs are a big reason we keep going back.
