I didn't know math could be racist?

I really get all fired up when I read things like this---

if its a test the city give to all applicants and "some" arent passing whos problem is it

if everyone is taking the same test its fair for all--if they start lowering standards the city is going to be in big trouble!!!

eveything is now a black and white issue--it doesnt matter whos the best qualified for the job there has to be so many of one group and so many of another

I have some friends who teach for Milwaukee Public Schools ( which is a diaster in itself) but my friends huband was told he was failing too many students!!! so he had to pass them on wheather they earned it or not!!

and where is that fair to the kids that worked hard

My DS is a police officer for Milwaukee--and it was a standardized test all applicants took the same test and they were ranked from that

IMHO: You take the test, you fail the test, you get a tutor, you re-take the test and pass. I had to retake parts of the CPA exam a few times before I passed it all (along w/ a whole bunch of other people). And believe me, they did not lower the standards and you don't want them to lower those standards...do you?
