because we're staying at the BCV's, and will have a full kitchen (there will be 4 adults, 5 children). However, I've already made 2 table service ADR's for lunch (one at the CP for a character lunch), and 4 table service ADR's for dinner. I'm wondering at what point it would be worth it to get the DDP? I was planning on a few counter service meals, but breakfast in the villa, just because it's faster. Any advice?

Do you have an AP? Would the DDE card make better sense for your family?

The best thing to do is figure out what you would spend at the restaurants, figure in tax and tip and the figure out if the DDP is a cost savings or not.

Do you want or need an appy and a dessert for each TS meal? (assuming you are going in '07)

The other question is are the kids considered adults or kids ofr DDP purposes? That could make a huge difference too.

When we were trying to decide, I did a spreadsheet and figured out how much we would spend at each place and deciding if it was worth it or not.

Good luck planning, it is hard to decide isn't it?:upsidedow

but I have done a TON of research...
DDP would cost you about $1300 for 6 days for 4 adults/5 kids (all 10 & under).

You are doing 6 TS meals. At $25/adult & $10/child for each of those TS meals, you are already at $900...

If you are planning CS for all lunches...say $10/adult & $5/child for the 6 days, is now another $600...

We haven't even added snacks...

SOOOOO....you are already at $1500, probably conservatively...

I'd say the DDP makes better sense, financially. Looks like you could spend MORE OOP for the same meals. I'd say get the DDP and then not have to worry about prices!:woohoo:

We weren't going to do DDP, but DM said while we COULD eat for less (but not A LOT less) at WDW, it would require serious effort...and a lot of "NOs".

We will eat breakfast in our room (bring pop tarts/cereal bars/small cereal boxes/protein bars/coffee; buy milk, juice w/ snack credits). We figure CS for lunch daily, TS for dinner daily (dessert may be breakfast the next AM! ), and then the kids can have a snack of choice each day!
The freedom to order WHATEVER I want from the menu w/o regard for prices is SOOOOO worth it!

Thanks for your help! I did make a mistake with the adult/kid ratio, since my oldest is 11, but then again, she eats like an adult (no chicken fingers for her). I think I will look at our schedule (I have the days planned), and try to get the ADR's I would want, and see if it's worth it. Ugh - more planning! LOL!
