I finally got up the nerve to weigh in after our WDW trip and found that I had actually lost half a pound even though I felt like all I did in the parks was eat.
I've just got another pund to go before I get a new clippie! Just thought I would share.

Well done Melissa ~ Can't wait to see your new clippie.

what do you think you did right at WDW? We have a 11 day trip (including driving time) coming up (leaving in 32 days) and I am really worried... Did you just try to eat right and skip deserts, etc.? Or did you have a plan? Did you work out at all?

I can't imagine being at WDW and not eating everything yummy! Probably why I have this extra, right?

But, I am trying to get into the mindset of skipping deserts and eating more salads and choosing healthier entrees (no sauces or, at least, light sauces).

Any hints would be really appreciated! That is so awesome that you lost on vacation, what a dream! :-)

Thanks everyone! What I think I did right was not shying away from all the walking (and no, except for one pool day I didn't get any other exercise), limiting my treats and sharing when possible. (A churro or soft pretzel split between me and three kids didn't leave me with much. :earboy2: ) I shared breakfast with DH, skipped the fries with any meal, and usually tried to pick the healthiest options when eating counter service. I did allow myself a few treats like strawberry soup, a couple of Mickey bars (I shared the second one with my two year-old DD and after she had her "turn" a few times, I didn't want it more.), and strawberry crepes. But, anything I ate that I knew had a lot of points, I shared or avoided. (in addition to the fries, I skipped funnel cakes and pasta dishes) Also, no matter how much I paid for the food, when I was satisfied I stopped eating! (that's a huge thing with me anyway)
I really think it was the endless walking that helped the most. Thanks again! I hope that helped.

Thanks for the details Melessa! I love pasta, not sure I can stay away... Will probably try to share with one of the kids.

I am also going to try and not snack between meals... will also try to avoid the bakeries... (getting bummed just thinking about it...)... But, heck, if I can do this at home, I can do it there. I will just have to find new favs down at WDW to look forward too, right?

You did so well, wow!
