Oops, meant to post this on the parks board, maybe someone here can still answer it. Thanks.

I had already planned the trip before I heard about Night of Joy, but afterwards, I wasn't concerned because I read that it was going to be held in MK on Friday and Saturday night , but I just read below that it has been extended to include Thursday. I thought we would avoid crowds by arriving Wed afternoon, going to MK on Thursday and MGM on Friday and leaving on Saturday, but now I'm not so sure that's going to work. Any ideas? How bad will MK be on Thursday if we go early? (If it's extremely crowded, dh may never return...I've got one of those grumpy spouses everyone's posting about on the resort board, ugh!) Thanks a bunch!

We were there last year that whole week before. We only noticed an increase in crowds that Saturday. I don't know how the extra day will effect it. I thought it had more to do with it being the weekend than the night of joy. It had me concerned a little too but remember the park usually close early that week anyway. After 6 you'd have to go to another park.

Good luck. That week last year was great. I am expecting a slight increase this year due to the overall increase in crowds throughout the year.

What is the Night Of Joy???
I will be at WDW Aug. 30th- Sept. 6th, is this somethink like a parade??
TIA

No it is not, it is a Christian Rock music festival held at the MK and requires a special hard ticket to get in. It is extremely crowded and extremely noisy and filled with rowdy ill mannered teenagers.
avoid it at all costs if you value a pleasant park experience.

We were there last year during night of joy concerts. To me it didn't seem crowded at all. The concerts are a hard ticket event after the park closes. It might be slightly more crowded than a usual day in Sept but not enough that you'll have to wait too long for rides.
