So now I need to figure out when to buy more. Here are some deciding factors. DH travels constantly for work and when he's not traveling he goes in around 6:00 a.m. and doesn't get home until 5:30 - 6:00 p.m. it took an act of congress to him to the notary the first time around. So here's my question. If I just pay cash for my add on do I still have to do the notary thing? It seems to me that that was just for the mortgage. Now for my second question. Is it better to by an add on at your home resort or would it be better to own at several resorts? We own at AKV and are very happy to stay there but we would like to also stay at VWL and BWV occasionally as well as all the others if we can get in at 7 months. We normally travel late May/Early June.

It's been a while since our last add on, but we did NOT have to get anything notorized. I just called by guide, gave them my Visa number and told themn how many points I wanted. A week or so later the package arrived, DW and I signed where indicated, FEDEX'd the package back. That was it. That is how it went for all the add ons.

Great!! That's what I wanted to hear. It's soooooo much easier if he can just sign papers at home with no scheduling worries.

I can confirm BillPA's info. For my first add-on, I financed so I did need to use a notary. For my second add-on (around Feb or March of this year), I didn't finance and didn't need a notary.

Personal preference on where to do an add on. We decided to to BWV because we wanted to be able to use the 11 month booking window there for standard view rooms, which are a bargain point wise also for the BW view rooms. Also want to be able to stay during food and wine sometimes as well as around the holidays.:thumbsup2

My own opinion is to add-on at another resort, rather than at your existing home resort, just so you can book at BWV or VWL at the 11-mo window.

I believe it is only the mortgage paperwork (if you finance) that requires the notary. Good luck! Diane

I will offer a slightly different opinion. First do you haev enough points at AKV for your planned AKV stays? If yes, then go for another resort. If no, then I would add-on enough points at AKV to complete your stays there before adding on at another resort. This is the method that I used. I am planning on checking out BWV and BCV in December so that I can work on the second phase of my plan: add on at a second resort in the EPCOT area.

Thanks for all the replies. I do have enough points to last through approximately 2015 at my home resort through banking/borrowing. The problem occurs when I add in higher point resorts that we want to stay at. Specifically VWL, we LOVE WL and definately want to be able to stay there. Well good greif I guess in the end I just answered my own question!!!:rotfl2: I need to look for a VWL resale contract. So do you all think they will offer the extension on VWL?

Tina

My personal guess is they will eventually offer extensions on all resorts they don't plan on tearing down. If they don't, they will have a huge business problem in 2042 with members not willing to re-buy. Of course, that is a long time away!
