I cancelled my DVC trip on the day I was supposed to arrive which as you know doesnt give you the ability to re-use them at a later date. My question is what would the cash value have been for a 1bdr at OKW from Mon Jul 1st to Fri Jul 5th?
I need to know some that when I beat myself up over this later I can remind myself of the cash value I lost :(

I'm sorry you had to cancel. IMHO, you shouldn't beat yourself up over it. Things happen! If it were me, I'd consider that I actually lost the number of points times the maintenance fees for 2002. If you MUST be mean to yourself, here is a link to 2002 rack rates for the HAFH resorts:

I'm sure that you are savy enough to have gotten an AP discount, so you would have gotten the room for 40% off rack :D

Can you use your emergency one time banking of points? Just a thought, it might be worth a call to MS tomorrow.

Yes, i second what DeeP said, I believe all members have a one time unrestricted bank.

Banking doesn't apply here. If you cancel on the day of arrival, you just lose all of the points. :(

You can look at page 33 of the Member Guidebook to read about cancellation rules.

It might still be worth a call to MS, you have all to gain and nothing to lose. Maybe if you explain the circumstances and you talk to a supervisor you might just get lucky.

Thanks for the advice. I will give them a call in the morning

We don't know your particular circumstances, or your use year, but if you only could have cancelled the day before it would have made a lot of difference. You would have regained the points and possibly have been able to use them before the end of your use year.

Banking was never an option. All cancellations less than 31 days out put the points into a special holding account where they can only be used in the current use year, and only to make a reservation at 60 days or less.

Most likely the room went empty, for at least the first day, so DVC had no opportunity to rent the room on a cash basis. That's where the problem comes in.
