After leaving FW this Jan. during Marathon Weekend, I decided to finally follow through with previous years resolutions to run the WDW Marathon. Having never run before, I went to Fit2Run for shoes and also bought shirts, pants, socks, IB-Relief for the aches and pains with this 59yo body and started training.
Training was progressing nicely until I had a bad crash while riding my bicycle. I visited my Orthopedic surgeon and his advice was to forgo running, bummer, but that after I healed I could get back on the bike.
Not being able to run meant I had to find another goal to accomplish. I decided to get fit enough to where riding 100 miles even when the temperature was in the mid 90's and the humidity was up was no big deal.
Well yesterday was that day and then some. 201 miles and today I am feeling great.
I think I have the length of time for exercising licked so now I say the heck with my Dr. and 2011 looks good for a WDW Marathon!
