I did my family's fp+ reservations last night, some thoughts...

Last night my window opened for Fp+. I was an experienced legacy user so I was a bit intimidated by the new system. We don't come often so I feel the pressure to get it "right" for my family.

I have to say that I was happy with how it went. I was able to get what I was looking for and MDE was easy to use.

I did read up quite a bit on how to use/and modify the FP, and I watched a couple of videos on you tube that took me step by step on how to navigate the system, so I was quite comfortable.

I had my plans written out along with any ADR that we have so I could work out the best times.

When I had to wake up at 1145 last night I was not happy, ( I wanted to get A and E so I chose to start right at 12am) but I got over it and I have to say that so far my experience with this system has been good.

Just thought I would throw my 2 cents in for what its worth. Thanks for all the great information on this subject.

Haven't had any experience with the system myself, but wanted to give a friendly "good job, glad it seemed pretty easy for you", and to nod knowingly when you say you just want to "get it right" for your family. I'm sure you did, and you'll all have a magical time together!

Thanks !! You know what's funny is that if you ask my son what he remembers as the most fun from our last trip, he will say playing on the bed with his grandfather and his new pirate toy. It really is about being together. I am going to try to keep that in mind this trip.

Pete has said it many times, and i fully agree - in years to come - you probably will not remember what ride you did not get on, or what FP you missed, etcl, but who you did what with - it's the people and the feelings, and the fun that make the memories for the most part. But I still get the "wanting to get it right" - I stress the same, since my friends call and count on me to be their "Disney Guru" (that's actually what they call me, poor unfortunate souls). :)

This is so incredibly true. As a veteran WDW visitor with nearly 3 dozen trips under my belt, I have so many special memories and stories that stay with me and pretty much every one of them is something that happened in the moment, not something that was planned in advance.

So make your plans, and I'm glad that went well for you, but remember to put your phone in your pocket and be present in your surroundings. You just never know what might happen.

So true!!
