Well finally bought in to BWV. I started the post about use year and appreciate the feedback. You guys are correct I have an Aug use year but they did give me 05 points. Unfortunately they need to know pretty quick what I would like to do with them. So I guess if I bank I'll have 620 points for 06. Thats a lot of points. To bad you couldn't use extra points for theme park tickets...now that would be nice.

If you rented to your friends, you could use the money for APs. We've never rented, but it's something to consider.

Another question for everyone....sounds stupid since I just bought in. But if I had to sell would I have to sell my whole contract or could I sell just a portion of my points? Say I own 310, could I sell 40 points??

No you cannot sell part of your contract. If it's not too late, as JimMIA already suggested in your other thread, consider asking DVC to sell you a 150-point contract and a 160-point contract rather than one 310-point contract. That way you would have the option to sell half your points down the road. The 150/160 split is just one example, you could divide it up differently if you wanted to.

Thanks for the great tip. I did make the call to, I guess you call them guides. She was able to split the contract into 2. Both at 155, so if need be I can unload 1 of them. This forum has been great.

Actually, you should thank JimMIA who offered that suggestion in your "use year" thread. But I'll accept thanks for passing it along.

In the other thread, he mentions that if you should ever want to sell, two smaller contracts will be easier to sell than one 310 point contract. But it also has the benefit that it allows you to sell some of your points.

By the way, congratulations on your purchase of BWV!!
