I just booked tickets to Tokyo and Hong Kong!!!! When I'm done with this trip, I will have fulfilled one of my life-long goals: visiting every Disny theme park in the world!!! :wizard: :cheer2: :cloud9:

now I need to find hotels and plan :woohoo: If anyone has advice or suggestions, please let me know :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Congrats!!! :cheer2:

We visited Tokyo and Hong Kong Disney resorts this summer. There's so much to do....very exciting!! In HKDL we got picked to be grand marshal in the parade. Tokyo DL and Sea are just awesome! :thumbsup2

My DD saw your post and urged me to reply. Feel free to PM me with questions. When are you going?

I spent some time in Japan and although I didn't get to go to Tokyo Disney, some of my friends did and they had a blast. I hope you have a great time!

Thanks! I may take youi up on the offer to PM you with questuions. I'll be there in 4/07.

If you don't mind my asking, where did you stay in Tokyo and Hong Kong? We are currently thinking of staying onsitge in HK (at the cheaper of the 2 resort hotels) and offsite in Tokyo).

In Tokyo, the Palm and Fountain Hotel, one of the good neighbor Disney resorts. Free shuttle & breakfast included. The hotel is very comfortable and exceeded our expectation for the price. However, it's not convenient to get around to see other parts of Tokyo.

In Hong Kong, it's very easy to get around. DL is small but fun for a day or 2. If you stay onsite, you're limited to not much to do around Disney. You may consider a place near MTR stations in Central, Kowloon or Tsim Sha Tsui. They connect to DL easily. We stayed in Kowloon and used public transport everywhere. Unlike Tokyo, English is widely used, including public transports and signs.

I ditto the above. Tokyo is a rough town for visiting Americans. If you can, get yourself a guide to meet you at the airport and for any sightseeing.

Hong Kong, on the other hand, isn't as bad. You can usually find someone who speaks enough English to help you (and wants to) in any major city in China.

I haven't been to any Disney park other than in Orlando (though I have pics of Hong Kong being built) and am so jealous! Have a great time!!!!

That is awesome!!! :Pinkbounc

I can hardly wait to hear about your trip after you return home. :)

Have fun planning!!! :teeth:

Thanks for the info. I looked at the Palm and Founrtain website and the hotel is definately on my list of potential places to stay. Currently, they are only booking through 3/07, so I'll have to wait until they open additional dates.

We're only planning 1 day at DLHK. I think I can do everything in a day...maybe less depending on crowds.

Thanks again to everyone who posted :goodvibes :sunny:

So cool! I haven't even been to Disneyland yet.

One of my coworkers just got back from Hong Kong a couple days ago. He didn't go to Disney - but he did bring me back a Mickey pen that lights up. He said it's an amazing place to visit - very easy to get around. He especially liked taking a ride on the double-decker bus - said he got a great panoramic view of the sights to see!

it's very easy to get to TDL, TDS, and HKDL via public transport. in Tokyo, you might look at staying just outside of the city centre. the last trip i stayed in hatchobori - it was only a few stops from pretty much anywhere and walking distance to the fish market. in Hong Kong, you can stay near the MTR on the HK side or the near Kowloon side, but the most common are Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Mongkok. hotels in Hk are much more affordable than in tokyo.

i travel to both locations regularly - if you have any questions, you can PM me as well.
in the meanwhile, you can get a sneak preview from my Disney photos site. and enjoy the trip planning!!!
