:surfweb: I had a few minutes this morning to work on my plans....right in the middle of everything......they are having difficulties across the entire web-site.. I really hope this is NOT an ongoing problem!!!!!! :furious: I will be asking for my refund. Is this normal or a fluke??? :confused3
 
I have been a member since 2004 and this is the first time it has happened. I was on earlier this morning. It will probably only last for a short amount of time. Every site has technical problems once in a while. It's really nothing to be worried about.
 
I just spoke to one of Mike's assistants and the Web hosting company has been notified and are working on it at this very moment.

This is VERY rare, so don't think this will be a problem in the future. I'm sorry your first exposure has this happen. It'll be worth it, believe me!
 

All websites run the risk of having an error - same thing happened to me on the site this morning. don't worry about it. It'll be back up soon. Just calm down and before you know it, the site will return.
 
No offense, but relax! If you were going tomorrow, ok, I see your point! Don't worry- this is his business and I'm sure they will fix whatever problems they have. There is a ton of info but from personal experience, his plans work and he gives fantastic advice. Don't worry- he will not rip you off- no need to demand a refund right away!
 
I joined in the Summer of last year and planned my September trip and rejoined again a few months ago to plan our April trip.

I've never seen an outage on his site, so this is definitely a rarity. I've seen more issues here on the DIS with slow response, timeouts on searches, etc.

I am a moderator on a very large non-Disney forum and we've had outages that lasted hours and even days. We had some major database corruption that took several days to repair....that was 3 years ago, and we haven't had a bad one since. It does happen....I work on computers for a living, and there is data corruption, hardware failures, network failures, ISP issues, etc that can happen on occasion.

You shouldn't base a request of a refund off of a single rare outage.

Can someone help explain this to me. Ok so you pay your 21.00 and then you get access to his web pages but for how long? Do you pay monthly? Is it worth it at slower times at WDW? Thank you!
 
Your subscription lasts until your trip, plus 60 days. It's definitely worth it in my opinion.

I noticed you'll be there in Nov/Dec. There's a ton of info on MVMCP and other holiday activities too.

I agree with the others posts. It was a fluke. Bad time to sign up, I guess. I think you'll be happy if you give it a chance. If not, you should have no problem with TGM's money-back guarantee.

If you have two trips planned (Oct & Dec), do you have to sign up twice or will one fee cover both trips?
 
OK so your subscription is good until your trip + 60 days. Does it matter how far off your trip is? As you can see we aren't going until May 2007. Can you sign up this far in advance?

Yep.... I initially signed up for January 2008. Luckilly I am now going in January 2007.

Repeat customers get a discount - I think it is $16.99 for a second trip. The way I look at it, most people doing research would probably purchase the Insider's Guide or some other book that would cost $15 or $20, and this is a MUCH easier way to gather the information, plus there is just a wealth of other information on the site. I consider myself to be very knowledgeable about Disney, planning, etc., and I considered TGM to be a great value. Just not having to research the EMH and the park hours, and getting his great articles and tips about everything under the sun, including the recommended parks for each particular date of your trip, and you can download a nice and easy itinerary maker.
 
I agree TGM is great -but I don't think I would sign up twice for two trips a few months apart...Just sign up for one of them..the site is incredibly helpful but it is different from a guidebook:

It is continuously updated. This is it's strongest advantage.

You are not supposed to share it with others as you would or could with a book you owned. Some really hate this.
