My hair used to go all the way down my back, stopping just shy of my butt :p and I deceided to get it cut because it was starting to cause headaches. I just hope my DH dosen't freak, because she cut it shorter than I wanted, it now just sweeps my shoulders

You're so BRAVE!! How long had you had it long? My hair currently touches my pants waistband..... I've contemplated cutting it for years now, but never get more than a healthy trim. Wish I could be so brave! Do you love it??.....................P

I wanted to but the place where I got it cut at does not do that and I don't know where in my area they do. :(

It had been that long for about a year. Yes I like it, but it is just a little to short.

Oh no..........you should have kept it and sent it in to Locks of Love yourself.

I got 16" (braided length!) of my hair cut about 3 years ago and donated it. I then had about another 8" off of that a year and a half later! I LOVE short hair!

Oh well maybe next time....
Your husband is going to feel like he is with a new woman.

You took the words out of my mouth (fingers?)

I am envious! I'm having pain on the forehead from having mine up in a bun all the time. But I am such a wimp!

Just out of curiousity, how long does the hair have to be to donate it? Can men donate?

You can visit the website at Locks of Love . Here is what is on the donation page:

1. We accept 10" minimum hair length (tip to tip), not wigs, falls, or synthetic hair
2. Please bundle hair in ponytail or braid.
3. Hair needs to be clean, dry, placed in a plastic bag, then padded envelope.
4. We need hair from men and women, young and old, all colors and races.
5. Hair may be colored or permed, but not bleached or chemically damaged (if unsure, ask your stylist).
6. Hair swept off the floor is not usable.
7. Hair cut years ago is usable if it has been stored in a ponytail.
8. Hair that is short, gray, or unsuitable for children will be separated from the ponytails and sold at fair market value to offset the cost of manufacturing.
9. You may pull curly hair straight to measure the minimum 10".
10. The majority of all hair donated comes from children who wish to help other children.
11. Layered hair may be divided into multiple ponytails for donation.

I didn't know I could do if my self. :(
O well it does not take to long to grow so I will do it next time. :D

Thank you for the link, I will bookmark it.

PS. My husband didn't freak.

Glad to hear your DH didn't freak! ;)

Do you like it or is it a bit strange still being so different?

Any before and after pics?
