I did it...full frame, baby!

Tracking numbers are wonderful and evil all at the same time. When you see its at the distribution center nearest you and you know the what the next status is .... you wanna just scream thru the computer .... "get it on the darn truck already, don't you guys know I'm frozen until my package is 'out for delivery'?"

I wonder if there is any way to pick it up at the distribution center instead?
Anyone done that before?

B&H wants a signature and what if I have to go out? It always seems like I get my stuff and the very end of the day too. Oh drat...this is almost too much to bear.

We're always VERY late on our UPS delivery route. I had something coming once and knew I'd miss it. I tried hard to get to pick it up but they said they had to attempt delivery first, then if I was missed I could call and have it held to pick up there. I ended up missing mine on a Friday night. I waited until 6:30 only to find it arrived about 10 minutes after we left........that after waiting and watching ALL DAY!

I hope you can find a way........or maybe it's Fedex and they handle it differently???????

Good luck!

Janet

Mine was set for Fed Ex delivery and I had planned for a day of waiting since Fed Ex hits my neighborhood like three times during the day. Checking online (constantly refreshing:laughing:) all it ever said was received by the center 30-40mins away. Next thing I know Hubby says there's a UPS truck outside, it just before 9am. No way did I think it was my camera, the shape was all weird, it was UPS, hubby was expecting something as well and nothing ever said 'out for delivery.' Opened the box, pulled it out and youngest DD gasped and said, "It's a GOLDEN BOX!!!" :lmao: About an hour later I got a text notification it was out for delivery. So all this technology and it's still hit and miss. I half expected Fed Ex to show up with another one.

I ordered something once from the Disney store. I didn't see it on my front porch, but got an email from them saying my order had been delivered. Sure enough....opened the door and there it was!

Amy, I hope your box comes early in the day with no hassle!

Not sure you can pick up like that with UPS... I think FedEx lets you pickup though. I've always been pretty lucky with my UPS deliveries being early in the day although I have tracked down my UPS guy on several occasions to send packages. Having a business I sometimes need to send things and I know where he eats his lunch and where he makes scheduled daily pickups so it would not be out of the realm of possibility for me to stalk the UPS driver if I knew I had a package on his truck :rotfl2:

I just talked to the local UPS distribution center, and just as I feared, they must make a first attempt at home delivery before I can come in to pick it up. Also, end of day goes until 7pm. If it doesn't come earlier than that, I may miss it because of those wrestling meets!!
Prayers, pixie dust, crossed fingers, whatever ya' got...that I'm on the route the first half of the day. :)

And Karyl, I'd have no problem stalking a UPS driver either. I'd prefer the Fed Ex guy, but I have no shame, really.

Wen - you should make "It's a golden box!!!" your tag line. I love it!!!

The UPS guys on my route are way hotter than the Fed Ex guys, plus they wear shorts!! Ooh la la!

I'm in agony!!! It's been "out for delivery" since 4:30 this morning, but no sign of them on my street. Ughh!!!!

OMG ... I think this qualifies as "cruel and unusual punishment". I'd be out driving around looking for Big Brown. LOL I was hoping to get a first impression update before I have to leave for auction for the rest of the day.

This is like waiting for a baby to be born!

And it came just in time. :) I'm off to a weekend of wrestling meets and my 24-70mm is already connected to it. I can't believe how much wider full-frame looks. This is going to be fun!

Woo hoo!!!! Have fun!

On the wider frame I'm suddenly a chronic centerer again. That or someone ends up down in a corner, lol!

OK - here's one from today. It is completely unedited, except I changed the crop from landscape to portrait. The kids in white is on our team and went on to take 6th place at the tournament. :)

I didn't do any noise reduction at all. :)

Nice!
That ISO is amazing isn't it? I've gotten to where I dont even bother to check for noise. Haven't used my flash since I got mine.
