I did it- changed to POFQ!

OK- after much debate and indecision in my house, I made an executive decision and changed our reservation from All Star Movies to POFQ. We have stayed in POFQ twice before and we LOVE it! We thought about the money we would save at ASMo and decided to go for it. Then, they changed the preferred rooms- and yes, we like to be close to the food court and bus stop, so we payed the extra for the preferred room. Since then, I've been doing lots of research and read both good and bad about the all stars. While I'm sure they are great, I just decided to be on the safe side where I know we'll be happy. This trip is very important, we've had a rough year and I want to be sure this trip is wonderful so I did it, made the executive decision and POFQ it is for us!!! Hello beignets!!!!

I am about to do the same thing. We are booked at POP right now which DS and I liked last year but I really loved POFQ where we stayed a few years ago. I kept going back and forth about the money and all but then when I figured in that the resort is smaller so less walking for me (a big plus), I get a refrigerator in my room, I like the air conditioner and heater set up better than at POP (they put a governor on the AC and you have to get maintenance to come and fix that so you can get the room cool enough) plus there is already a blow dryer in the room that I won't have to ask for. Also, something some people may not think about, but it seems like the bus stops from the parks are further away for the value resorts. I did see the signs changed one time at MGM from one day to the next but generally the bus stops were Deluxe, Moderate then Values. Even more walking. We aren't going until March so I am not in a great hurry but will probably change it this weekend. One other thing I found when I changed from a value to a moderate one other time is once I had paid my deposit on my value resort room they accepted that as enough of a deposit for the moderate room. Now if I can just get a good discount code!!

jaymie- glad to hear I'm not the only one. This has been driving me crazy. This is what I figured- I know the buses at POFQ are great (have read very mixed reviews on the buses at ASMo), refridgerator already in room, privacy curtain at POFQ, two sinks at POFQ, beignets, small resort- shorter walks, yes- I've seen the long lines for values after the fireworks (maybe they move fast for those staying there), hairdryer already in room, did I mention BEIGNETS?
Anyway, I just decided to pay the extra for POFQ and not worry about the resort- we know we'll love it!
BTW- when I changed today, I did have to pay extra for the deposit- it was around $50-something of a difference.

Glad you changed. Sorry you had to pay more. Doesn't really matter. I gotta pay it sometime.

We love this resort, this will be our 3rd visit. CM tried to get us to go deluxe this time and I said no. POFQ is the best and I can use the 1500 more on a lot of birthday presents while we are down celebrating. The buses are great. First on and First Off, though many times we never shared a bus coming back to the resort. Just once or twice. The ride even going to pick up at POR is never long and I love the scenery. We saw so many animals and birds. We can't wait for our time.

We loved POFQ. Just stayed there last week. And changed my CSR ressie in the beginning of November and saved almost $100. And staying there again the end of November. It is small, can walk to everything. My DD loved the boat to and from DTD.

We love POFQ too! I really don't want to stay anywhere else (exept the Dolphin). I stayed a couple nights at ASMo and it wasn't for us.

The resort is beautiful and you cant go wrong... take advantage of the boat going to DTD... its great!

Our first on-site visit was at the CBR and it was great except that the walk to the food court seemed a long way, not because you hate to walk but because it is just the start of the day and you are going to be doing a lot more walking. Then when you think your feet are about to fall off you get dropped off at your resort and it's more walking.

Then on our next visit we decided to stay at PO-FQ and my DS (14 at the time) and I loved it. The setting is so tranquil and yet we were close to the food court and the bus stop is close enough that you feel like your feet are just being drug along with the body that is up and ready to go!

This year we are trying BCR and I think my DS16 was disappointed because he really wanted to stay at POFQ again. We loved it and I would have no problem returning to that resort but I really have had no desire to stay at one of the value resorts. Don't know why but just not interested.

I just did the same thing too. We were originally booked in CBR but when I was at Disney last week, we toured POFQ and I fell in love with it. Changed it just the other day!
