I have been wanting to get my Son one but I did not want it to look too girly..... Well I was looking over my Family Fun Mag and seen this ID bracelet. It looks like it would be a great one for him and he picked out the red one and said he liked it.
I plan to order it in the morning BUT wanted to see if any of you have seen and bought one, and if you have, Is it a good bracelet?????
I also wanted to share my find for the day.
There are a few colors to choose from. If my sons turn out great I will be getting Daughter one also for later on.
Here is the website

I don't like the price, but it looks interesting. How old is your DS, will he be OK with that on his wrist all day?

I just showed it to my DD9 and she said that it would be cooler if it was a digital watch and ID made all in one. LOL. :p

elmonshea - I think you found a very cool design for a boy. It doesn't scream "girly jewelry", that's for sure :teeth:

Amirah95 - I was kind of thinking the same as your DD. I know my DD wouldn't keep it on because she won't wear the watch she got for more than 1/2 hour (luckily, we got it at the Dollar Tree). I'm still trying to think of something she will wear without complaint that I can use as an ID holder for her. Since DD is pretty shy, I'm not sure she'd be willing/able to show the ID to someone trying to help her so I want it to be easily found if she does get lost but not too obvious that DD fusses with it. I might end up with something basic - like a luggage tag style fob hanging on her waist pack. We have one from DLR trip last year so I'd just need to find a spot to add our resort info.

My DD is older and tall for her age, but I still tag her. We make bracelets before we leave for the trip. Each bead has a letter on it and it spells out her first name. The second bracelet has both DH and my cell phone numbers on it and the last one has the resort name and room number. She wears them on her ankle and they drop over the fold in her sock. We use thin wire that won't break, and they are fun to make and DD says that it is in style. You can get a cheap kit from Toys R Us.

Check out www.childsid.com They have a variety of id items ranging from the plastic bracelets to medical grade jewelry items. The have dog tags, things for girls and for boys. They are bit more expensive (think I paid around $25-30), but my 2 yr old son wears his 24/7 even swimming and it has held up well. There are lots of images you can have engraved on them as well. I got my son the jr id bracelet that has his name and a train engraved on the one side, and his full name, dob, address, home # and my cell # on the other. He likes showing it off because of the train and it doesnt seem to bother him. The clasp is tough even for me to open so theres no way hed get it off. Some people put them on the childs ankle. When he grows out of it, I will get him the next size up, but they will also add links at no charge. If your info changes, they will update it/send you a new one for only 1/2 price. I feel a little more at ease knowing that he always has some form of id on him, not just at WDW. Yes its not something that can be updated with your hotel info for every trip, but I always carry my cell phone and I would never leave the place (ie MK) without him anyways). You could always attach a temporary id to his clothes for the hotel info though.

I've seen so many good suggestions for ID'ing the kids on these boards ... what I am planning to do is get those vinyl badge holders that have holes in the top and attach one to each of our pin lanyards. Then I will put each person's pass, and a picture of the four of us (in a panic, I won't be able to describe my children, and at the same time, it will help the CM who is helping my child find us), and in the kids' I'll put a slip of paper with their names and my cell #.

Hopefully we won't need them!

The lanyard thing is cool as long as they wear it the whole entire time. I know my DD would want to take hers off and put in her back pack. With the anklets, she can't remove them and in order to get it off you will need small wire cutter (that's how we remove it from her).

After seeing many great suggestions on the boards - we discovered the perfect id for our daughter. The DTD pet store (it is new - in with the Pooh Shop) has pet id engraving machine. For $8 you can get a mickey mouse ear change (there are others designs as well for $10) and a $2 chain (it is like a slightly nicer pull chain) - then engrave with whatever message you want.

We put DD (4 1/2) name and our cell phone numbers. It was very light weight so when she was done wearing her pins it didn't matter. She called it her special charm and loved wearing it. I will use it all the time for large outings.

It is definitely something you can do with your child watching as well. It machine has window that you can see the engraving happen.

If you want to put alot of info or med stuff try one of the larger shapes - some sizes only allow for 3 lines others have 4 or 5.

Then you can have your child practice with a cast member showing them the charm.

Have fun and be safe.

If you have a digital camera, don't forget to take a picture before you leave the room/resort. That way you don't have to try to remember what they were wearing while you are panicked.

Got that covered MommyBoo, I've ordered custom t-shirts for each of us -- a different one for each day; so all I have to do is look down!

Again, let's hope this is all just very unnecessary precautions!

I just came across this site and they have another type of id. www.myprecioiuskid.com Its about $14 and you get this little tube. You fill out the paperwork, send it in and a few weeks later get the info back on microfilm which fits inside the tube. The tube is about the size of a nickel and can be worn on just about anything. It magnifies the info on the microfilm (about 25 lines worth of info). They made them for pets, now have them for kids.

I didn't know if any of you would be interested in this type of ID or not, but I am going to order one for my 3.5 year old son for our trip. He has small hands and I am afraid of a bracelet falling off.

I have that one. It's nice. I plan to use it this year. I might put it around his ankle because I think it might bother him on his wrist all day.

I was planning on going to the local pet store and getting an ID tag with our cell numbers on it and having dd wear it as a charm. I may hold our now and get a mickey one. Thanks for the tip.

We have used tiny plastic keychains (found at Walmart for about $2.00 for package of three). We just slide out the little sheet of paper in them (they are kind of like mini luggage tags) and write our cell number on them. We put them on our kids tennis shoes-either through the laces or on the hoop on the back. The kids don't mind them at all and we just tell them that if they get lost to find a CM and show them their tag. Be careful if you hang something from your lanyard. Our DD isn't very tall and her lanyard (or at least the square plastic pass holder part) kept scratching her thighs and we had to take that part of it off.

I like the suggestions found here for IDing the kids.

I was planning on just making some ID card and lamanating them, to put in there fanny packs. Here is the problem I am having. What to do at the waterparks. ID's for shoes and such won't work as they won't have on shoes ect. Also need it to be waterproof. One child is a boy so I need something that isn't too "girly".

What do the parents do at the waterparks when the ID is on the shoes?

I think the best thing is the pet ID tag. Then you can attach it and tie your child's shoelaces over it. You can also attach to a belt loop. That way, the child doesn't have it on their person (arm, leg) to bother them.

Last year, I used blank stickers, wrote the contact info on them & put them inside the back of my son's t-shirt. Didn't really bother him & told him to show it to anyone if he got separated. I did, however, forget to put the sticker in his shirt one day...which left me less than thrilled with myself.

This year, I ordered pet tags from Ebay. Very inexpensive ($3 each inc shipping) which is less than if I had gone to local pet store & actually ended up being a higher quality. They had several shapes & colors. Got a nice size star (pink for daughter, blue for son) that easily fit their name, our names & cell #s for each of us. And print is big enough so you don't have to strain to read it.

Plan to just lace their shoestrings through the hole & place the tag in most comfortable place on their foot.
