I couldn't believe my ears

Well, sometimes "winging it" can be a lot of fun. If they don't pick the really popular places and eat at off times, it might not be too bad.

I love to plan everything out.

Limited planning is ok if you know the pros and cons and are willing to live with it and/or adjust expectations accordingly.

I feel for those who don't plan for a rather expensive vacation and then are disappointed or stunned big time simply because they weren't aware of the impact crowds have. Or those who end up wandering around like a lost soul trying to find a short line somewhere, anywhere! for a meal, ride or attraction with members of the family saying, "I'm hot, I'm hungry, let's do something!"

IMHO, it's better to overplan a little -- you can always change or ignore them.

I don't see what the big deal is :confused3. I rarely make reservations and we always manage to find somewhere to eat. Some people just aren't that into food.
